What do you mean the law has change?...Have you send your Federal part?...No law of Quebec stops you from getting married. Or Do l get your question right?

You may want to look more into this. If I understood clearly what you are saying, correct me if i'm wrong..."You were awarded the CSQ, and soon to be married and you are seeking to add your spouse to your application." I read somewhere, If you get married before you are granted your PR you will delay your application. This is because your points will have to recalculated with your spouses information and will be treated as a new application. Thus, if your spouse's education, work, language etc. does not give you significant points your application could be delayed further or worse case rejected. You should give this a bit more thought. I'm not telling you to put your life on hold, marriage is a beautiful thing and I offer my congratulations. But any changes to our status we must inform the visa office, and we may either get more points or some points may be lost.

Hello Bajan4Quebec
Your above information contribution is just an assumption. There has NEVER be a recorderd case whereby, a shortage in points after getting CSQ and getting married has been recorded. YES, I agreed with you points would be recalculated, and this could delayed your time frame for processing, but in most cases on the other hand, 90-93% of applicants who fell into this situation have all recieved another CSQ for their spouses. The basic reason for this is that if you have the CSQ already before marriage, and after getting marriied your points fall short, you alone can not immigrate since you have alrady shown or decleared your wife/husband is moving to Canada with you, so you will be asked to upgrade your points together if you are still interested. Because there is a clause here in law, no one knows if your wife/husband want to move with you immediately, so its the upgrading of your shortage in points that actually leads to delayed.

Prove me wrong if l am wrong

Thanks!

dear jessica.c

there is no need to worry, as far as I concern, there is no change in law...what you need to do is,get your

marriage registered and keep some photograph of marriage and conversation proof with your spouse(if need in future)!!

CIC have kept you on hold, you have a personal life too..get married and update the details with CIC..best of luck for your marriage

I wish u all best of luck for smooth and quick processing!!

what i mean by the change of laws is the quota and the categories which showed up at the beginning of the year...

Hey Xse,

I agree it is just my opinion, I said rejected as a worse case scenario. For example, if Jessica got married after receiving CSQ...let's say she was fully eligible to migrate to Quebec, but her spouse's background contained details for inadmissability like no knowledge of french, lack in education points or even criminal offence (for example DUI)...don't be offended jessica it's just an example. Then I believe in the recalculation of points then an applicants file could be delayed or rejected because of the questionable background of the spouse. If no questionable background is against jessica's spouse then I suggest she go for it, get married. Most responses I read on this issue suggest this. They suggest to get marry, the Visa office will ask you for some additional documents in which you must supply them with. while they are processing your file it may incur a bit of delay...but the plus is you and your spouse are given a CSQ and can land together or the principal land first and the spouse after (whatever you decide). If she waits until after the PR she will still incur a delay (to bring spouse) as the spouses details will have to be processed...she would be the sponsor thus she will have to illustrate significant funds and prove the legitimacy of her marriage...either way its a delay, so it comes down to which delay she could handle better.

Dear jessica

no worries. i get married after i got my csq and also my federal in 2010, after my marriage i made an attachment for my husband and during 6 months i got a new CSQ for us coz directly when u got married, your CSQ it's deleted and u need for a new one as married and u should attached with new generic form and send it to federal!
so no worriers but get faster and send an attachment to your demand for your husband if you still the principal applicant!
best,

Hello Jessica & Moon.82

Please after obtaining CSQ and applying for the Federal part, how long do you wait for your medicals (MR) after your check has been cashed?
