Hi Fro,

I got the AOR instantly by email. It contained an attachment with a word document letter including my file number and stating that my file is open and under processing. I kept checking my P.O.Box but no physical mail, at least yet.

Till now NO NEWS at all guys, and if in Egypt they receive invitations for interviews for those who applied in June/July than i think our turn will be by the end of the year hopefully ..... i got tired already of all this process, and when i think that after we have to apply the second file and wait between 14-18 month or more.....!!!Is too much

not to be negative or anything but i just past 17 months and no medicals yet

applied alone, still "In Process" , "trying hard in contacting them" was my job for 2 months now via Damascus and the ridiculous Beirut branch where the operator would not patch you to anyone to talk to unless you were a canadian citizen (i might record the phonecall one day, might be useful to someone), in any cases all attempts to bypass machines talking over the phone have been nothing but fail attempts, i just need to talk to someone, what if for example i had a change in status to report? and they clearly stated that "YOU are supposed to declare a change in your status to your embassy within not more than 30 days or your application will be forfeit" , so under the 30 days condition how can someone declare a change in status if no one replies to emails nor answer phonecalls? am i the only one that fails to see logic here ?

Hi guys,
I am a US permanent resident in the USA. i hold a degree in electrical engineering from Algeria. I am currently studying Networking in Boston. I applied for the quebec immigration in October 2010 and I have not gotten any notification beside the one that I had on 1/2011 that said that Quebec immigration has opened up a file for me. Should wait and hope or take this as a negative answer. Is there any number to call or any way to check the status of my application?
You ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm Iranian and I have posted my documents to Syria office in the 8/5/ 2011 and have recieved an email in the 2/7/2011 from montreal.This email contains a refrerence No. (No réf. ind )and begins with:{Nous confirmons l’ouverture de votre dossier et vous transmettons l’accusé de réception attestant la perception des frais liés à l’étude de votre demande de Certificat de sélection du Québec}.and the payment by credit card is done.Both of me and my spouce are chemist.Could you tell me in your view, when we receive our file No?And where are the new interviews instead of Syira?

Souheila can't u try to reply them back to the mail? or is an electronic adress? we all wait to know where and when the interviews will take place... i'am waiting from Aug 2010

For the ones who received by mail file numbers, the file number starts with 2 letters and after 9 numbers...for example DA000037000...something like this.But this number we only will use it to send more supporting documents if necessary, can not check our status or something else...

Hey Everyone,

I got past the interview back in February 2011, and send out my second file for Federal by end of FEB.
Two weeks ago and after loosing faith in receiving my file number, I sent the embassy an email asking about it.

Luckily, They replied within a couple of days and provided me with my B file number. I used that to access the online application status and got the status: Application Received.

What does that mean? It even is not in process? Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Hello lucky one...we are still waiting for interview...
Sometimes they do not update the site , but application received it mans they did not start to process ur file...but is normal, i heard many cases before.Do not worry, anyway u have to wait minimum 14-15 month to get ur medical request, and ur status will remain always in Process.Will only change after medicals, will be DECISON MADE without any other info.

Thank you for the feedback, I have been doing some research here and there, and you are right, the status doesn't tell a lot. Now it is the time to wait and have faith. I wish you luck with your interview... I noticed it has almost been a year of waiting for you
