hey guys , many thanks for creating this page ..
I considering quebec immigration i just have a couple of question before submitting an official application ..

from what i have seen in the past 10 page that you all speak French , i dont and im wondering why i passed the online evalutaion on the official quebec immigration site .. So is French is a MUST to be selected for Quebec ..??

My 2nd question , what is on average the time needed to get the final visa approval for Canada ( after getting the Certificate of selection ) they site is talking about smth around 14 month !! for quebec skilled immigration , i guess this means the processing time needed after getting the Cert of selection ..

I apprecite your help guys, once again thanks for this wonderful page . :)

Marlaاh,

briefly, French is a Must to find out why ... allocate a short time about the french community in Canada, Quebec province political history etc.

Keep in touch
Kia

Marlah..

According to Quebec official immigration stats., French is NOT a must to apply for immigration. They have stated that they are increasingly accepting non-french speakers.

HOWEVER..
as Kia indicated, it's in fact mandatory to survive living in Quebec.
In addition, they may not ask for a high french proficiency at the time u apply..BUT they want to get persuaded that u r keen to learn/practice/use it in ur life.
They are so conservative to their heritage & culture..& would like to make sure new immigrants are to mingle in the community.

My advice..
1. Try to learn French if u r serious about ur interest in immigrating to Quebec.
2. Apply for immigration after taking their online assessment.
3. U can complete any missing part on the run ;)

Good luck.

Yes, I think depends on your immigration points, Ice advices are more applicable, professional and complete.
I am a Mechanical Engineer and to become eligible i had to know french As per the their points system

Best Regards,
Kia

Dear All,

I have filed my application to Damascus for Quebec Immigration on 22nd August 2010. Now it is more than 1 month but I did not receive AOR or any other information from the Damascus office.

Could anybody kindly share information regarding the time of receiving AOR from Damascus office.

Regards,
