Quebec 2010 Applicants Damasucs Visa office

Dear Ricoluna and Mazhar,

I am new on this post and I guess the most unlucky one.I would like to explain my situation so that you guys or anyone on the forum would help me out with your best advices.

I had decided for applying for Canadian Immigration in the year 2010.I was heading to apply through FSW and hence I gave my IELTS in September 2010.I scored a 7.0 , Later I came to know that Federal Skilled Worker does not have my profession MECHANICAL ENGINEERING in their list.So I lost all hopes and did not check about it again.But just a few months back I came to know I still had a chance in QSW.But unfortunately I didn't have prior French Knowledge.I am zero on French.But then rules changed again and now they ask for French test TEFAQ.The scenario is like this - My IELTS is valid till Sept 2012.And I am not in a position to give TEFAQ pretty soon.So I needed advice...Can I send in my application and then later on submit my TEFAQ, atleast that way I don't have to give IELTS again.Right now I have enough points even without French Language.

I know I should have applied before December, but unfortunately because of my personal circumstances I couldnot concentrate on this.Please advice me on my course of action ahead.Would be highly grateful.

I am sorry to tell you that a couple of weeks ago Quebec made the immigration conditions tougher and merely impossible .. check the previous link posted several days back.

Moreover, they are aboutto eliminate 300k federal applications dated before 2008.

Dear Affy, i am afraid u can not send ur application without french test language....it's imperative ...but do not loose hope, as mechanical Engineer u are still eligible to apply through Quebec immigration program, and if ur points are OK with NO French my advise is to take some private french lessons as soon as possible and after take the exam TCF Quebec....in this exa u can not obtain less than A1 which will give u 2 points for french.After this u send ur application.Do not be disappointed and TRY..u have nothing to lose.

NO I dont think he can apply, they only allow people graduate from quebec to apply now..
you have to check if mech. engineering there.

like nursing no problem if you studied out side quebec..

try federal because lot of oil and gas projects , if you have experience in oil and gas you can apply, its required :

TEF exams results should be submitted with the application as new rules.

old applicants no need to submit the results.. specially if your a francophone country, you can write letter that you learned in school that could help a lot.

also might not be called for interview some cases.

French is required, if you journalist you should be professional language level.

each profession required different level

as me an IT computer engineer, even though is french city but programing is in english language & no contact with people lot, like business graduates etc.

Ricoluna, I see that you gave TCFQ.The next test date is on 28th June.So I have hardly a month and 15 days.Is the TCFQ something hard?And what do I need to do for a score of A1....I want to use this opportunity.And then rest all lies with God.if by then the rules again change then God help me.I had one more query to ask.When all the documents are ready do I need to wait for get the Quebec Selection certificate separately?Or is it a part of the application process.I mean is this certificate first issued and then the application made?Please do let me know.

Dear Affy, first the TCF Quebec test is not so hard, u can easily obtain A1 level u have understanding part were u'll have a booklet in front of u and u must answer questions by hearing a tape and for oral part u'll begin by presenting yourself and a lady will ask u 5-6 questions..a question for each level.For example my first question was Present yourself pls, 2nd question was what do u wear if is cold outside....so are simple questions for A1/A2 level.Just take some private lessons and u can do it.Tell me one thing where do u live? there is in ur area any Center Culturelle Francaise?? try to contact a teacher from the center and ask her to prepare u for the test, they know exactly what u need.
Now the process for quebec Immigration is like this: u send ur file in order to obtain CSQ (Quebec selection certificate)...u'll have to wait around 1 year and half.u'll be called for an interview or u'll be giving the certificate without any interview if u have a v good file and need no points.After u obtain this certificate u'll send ur second file for the Federal part , but know is only question of time, the federals have the right to deny ur visa ONLY if u have medical problems or unclean police records.Otherwise in 2 more years u'll obtain ur permanent residence. So the whole process is around max 4 years, depends on the country u live. As the reduced the files i belive the process will be quicker.

Please consult this page, if you qualify and your are in group 1 or 2, you can apply, Otherwise I don't think you can after this new rule:

yes yma thats the link i wanted to send to him,

actually when calculating points its different than what we might think, example if you have 4 years BS degree, from lebanon, they might consider it as 2 or 3 years degree, so youll not get the full points of education.

so you will need more points of french which will be B1.

to know how and what your degree will be considered, you should do equivalence in canada you pay 80$.

for working experience, you should provide work letter of experience from employer and from security-xxx like taxes each year proof and first paslip and last payslip from your current work .

etc.

Thats how they consider it as good file.

Any one been through that?

Actually someone agency from montreal she helped me to submit these all documents.

I am currently based in Abu Dhabi.How good are my chances if I survive till the QSW rules change again...?And I have Bachelor's Degree from India (Visveshwaraiah Technological University VTU). And its a 4 year Full-time Bachelor's Course in Mechanical Engineering(Not a BS- Bachelor of Science).So certainly this should be treated like a 4 year study...Atleast that what I do believe.Please advice on that...Please advice

@ Lemans207 - And about experience I can get Experience Letters from employers, but then I hope Experience letters that I received from company that I worked 3 years ago would still hold good, because I am not sure if the people who issued the letters are still out there for verification for example the HR and Managers.Even, in my present case I am at the verge of a changeover and my previous employer wasnt very happy about me leaving.So how is it that I am going to deal with that.I have started the job at my new place and I am waiting for the other things to process.

http://www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/telecharge.php?type=7&file=GPI_3_1_INDE.pdf Here u have the points u obtain for a Diploma obtained in India.For ur area of study Mechanical Engineer 4 yeas u'll obtain 6 points at Domaine de Formation..so u enter the second category and u are eligible to apply dear.
U are not obliged to do Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec...
Now the most important is that u are eligible to apply for quebec immigration...so my advise is to take some private french lessons, do the exam TCF for quebec and send ur file. Do not wait for further changes as u can apply now.
Let me know if u need further help.
Ur studies are 4 years full studies, Mechanical Engineer.U'll obtain for ur diploma 10 points and for area of training 6 points....so u have 16 points for education. Calculate further age, work experience...etc and see ur points

Thanks for the reply.I think I will give my TCFQ and apply.I calculated all points and I have a 44...Now I need to add up the points for english Language - my Test score for IELTS is like this:

Listening - 8
Reading - 7.5
Writing - 6.5
Speaking - 6.5

Overall - 7.0.

So how much would I fetch points for it...I checked out the website and its too confusing...Could you help me sort that.?

And also what is this adaptability and Financial Self sufficiency category...?Can I try getting points in that?
