Dear all,

For the past 13 years, I have been studying full-time in Canada and never spent a total of 6 months or more in any other countries since the age of 18. Under the Police Certificate section I simply uploaded a letter of explanation which outlined the detailed residency history since the age of 18. More specifically, I made a claim that I shall be exempted from providing any police certificate (even one from my home country) in accordance to the rules set out on IRCC website.

Given the situation above my application might be okay but I'd thought it would be great to seek additional input from you. Do you think my application might be flawed due to the fact I did not provide any police certificate?

Many thanks for your help.

While you may be technically correct, I think IRCC will ask for the PCC from your home country (at a minimum). It is their right to do so. My advice would be to apply for it anyway (unless it is EXTREMELY difficult / impossible to get).

Just to be sure, you understand that the 6 months is "additive," or cumulative, correct? It does not have to be 6 months all at the same time... ?

Thanks for your prompt feedback. Yes my understanding of 6 months rule is the cumulative time instead of a continuous period. I shall start asking for PCC from my home country in case they happen to ask for it.

Thanks again for your help.
