Can anyone give me any advice as to a good immigration consulting firm or individual to assist in processessing a work permit here in Canada?

Depends on where you're based, I've only looked around for Vancouver-based ones as I'm in Vancouver. Try using Google or ask around - I got referred to one lawyer by the company I'm working at, I'm talking to a consultant via a mutual friend.

I have good experience with http://www.cipcanada.com/. Located pretty central in Downtown Vancouver.
They offer an online evaluation and follow-up interview which I really liked.
