Qualifying Hours for CEC

Hello my work permit ends in June 2014 but till date I have the following hours of exp in CEC

Hours Overtime Statutory Pay =Total
1450 60 45 = 1555 Hours

On Weekly average it comes to 33 hours per week

I have worked for last 11 months on PGWP and qualify in NOC 0621 but do not complete the whole 12 months of experience required. Do I submit my application NOW or wait for whole 12 months?

According to CIC.GC.CA http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/cec.asp (Full-time work means at least 30 hours per week, and you need to have worked at least 1,560 hours in a year. The one-year of work experience must have been obtained within the three years preceding the date your CEC application is received.)

Experts please could you answer this?

I believe you have just answered your own question. You MUST work for at least 30 hours a week (or equivalent in part-time) for at least a period of 12 months. You cannot use the additional hours worked to apply earlier.

Ask yourself one question:

AM I ELIGIBLE WITH ONLY 11 MONTHS, IF THE REQUIREMENT UNDER THE CEC IS 12 MONTHS OF FULL TIME WORK EXPERIENCE?

If you answer with "yes", then it's a lost cause. And if you answer with "No", then you're right and you will have to
wait until you become eligible.

About CEC: Can you clarify whether you will complete 12 months by the time your PGWP expires?

About your PGWP expiring, you have 4 choices -
1) Convince your employer to apply for an LMO, or find a new employer willing to apply.
2) Leave Canada.
3) Apply for a study permit and go back to school
4) Change conditions to visitor (you're not allowed to work, but it might give you enough time to find an employer willing to apply for an LMO).

Many employers are reluctant to apply for the LMO because they do not understand how much easier it is to get an LMO for someone who's currently on a PGWP. See the section on Advertisement -

If I am not mistaken, LMOs for the food and beverage industry has been put on hold recently. Not sure if you fall in that industry or if that applies to you.
You may want to double check that. And yes you will have to talk to your employer about applying for a LMO for you.

Please keeps caps off because if make us feel as if you are shouting on us.

If you want to change your employer then you have to ask your new employer to apply for LMO, and once you get LMO you will have to get Work permit which will be restricted to your new employer.

Too bad, looks like Hope is right, I didn't think it applied to managers, but it does... and being on the PGWP apparently doesn't give an exemption. http://www.stevenmeurrens.com/2014/04/moratorium-on-labour-market-opinions-for-the-food-services-sector/

So, it would seem that continuing in the same occupation isn't an option (at the moment).

Well, you won't get an AOR if you don't qualify (work a full 12 months / 52 weeks). It seems AOR takes (ion average) about 2 months, but it varies quite a bit...

I don't think they actually check the 12 months period for AOR. They just check if all the documents on the checklist are submitted, then the application is deemed
"complete" and sent for further processing. I think at this point the VO will actually count the hours.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

One thing they changed in November when they introduced the caps (OB 554) is that they now do a basic check of work experience at CIO. They ensure that you have at least claimed 12 months in qualifying occupations (whether your duties, etc, actually conform to those NOCs is still assessed at a later stage). If not, then your application is returned.

Question 1

I have completed total Hours = 1603
with an average of 35 hours per week, but actually sometimes I have worked under 30 hours for a week will that still be a problem?

Question 2

My postion is Manager in Trainning Retail field with a salary of 10.75...is that going to be a problem?
