Qualification for FSW

Dear all,

I would kindly like to ask you to review qualifications for me and my fiance and inform me whether we can apply or not for Federal Skilled Worker Program under CIC? Please, note that I do not have anyone that can help us to get a working contract and also we don't have family ties in Canada. We both live in Kosovo and we would like to move to Canada as soon as possible. But, before submitting our applications I would like to ask you, based on the below mentioned qualities do you think we still qualify since none of us studied in Canada, lived there nor have a working contrat.

I qualify for:
- The National Occupational Classification (NOC) - 4168 Program officers unique to government
- IELTS Over all Band Score 6.5
- Master Graduate (UK) in European Politics, Bachelor (USA) in International Relations
- Age 24, female
- Never lived and worked in Canada
- More than 2 years working experience (currently working in the Parliament of Kosovo)

My fiance:
- NOC 1123 Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations
- IELTS Over all Band Score 5.5
- Bachelor Graduate (KOSOVO) in Business Administration
- Age 25, male
- Never lived and worked in Canada, but visited Quebec in January 2013
- More than 3 years working experience in the field of Marketing and TV Production.

Looking forward to hear from you soon,

Sincerely yours,

If you plan to apply for FSW I'm afraid both these NOCs are not open this year. Here is the link with eligible occupations for FSW 2013.

if you could describe your individual ielts score here then it will be more convenient for me to calculate your points. but i guess (based on what you are telling) you can qualify but i am not sure your occupation is listed as the member wrote you can check it in the link. your partner (fiance) can help you with his IELTS band for only 5 points. you need an overall 67 score to qualify. his qualification and experience cannot give you any points. However, keep it in mind that you will need your educational credentials to be assessed from the authorised assessment authority which is WES, ICAS. and are you aware of the cap? it will reach soon.

best wishes

Thank you very much the answer. Well, I checked my occupation is not listed :(. However, if possible, do you know if there is another way to get a job contract or someone that can help me out as a connection in Manitoba province?

yes there is an another category in the FSWP which is called job offer catergory. if you contact some of the employers in canada and they offer you a job that would be great for you. you can then apply FSWP job offer category. This is officially called as "valid offer of arranged employment". This is a bit difficult if you are offshore and you are applying but it's not impossible try it, may be your luck works. otherwise wait until next year may be your occupation will be listed.

If you are interested in moving to Manitoba check this link regarding provincial nominated immigration.

Hope it helps. Best of luck.

thank you. I checked the official website for immigration to manitoba but in order to meet all the requirements I must have someone in manitoba to support me. This means a family member, relative or a friend. And I dont have anyone that I know that lives there. I feel helpless in this case.

Try to find potential employers in Canada and contact them through mail or call. May be that could work out for you. And why limit yourself to Canada?.... try other countries? How about somewhere nearby in your very own Continent? I am sure something better will turn out for you.

Best of luck.
