Well first of all the online evaluation is just a primary way to know if you are eligible for the QSW program or not but it is not the ultimate tool to finalize your points. Now you have to calculate your own points and find out if you are eligible or not.cool_canada said:Thank you!
I did the online evaluation, and it was showing me as eligible. I include spouse and dependents in the assesment. However, I was checking the points table (English version from immigration.ca website) where it says I need a minimum of 50 points with spouse to qualify and overall 57. My question is I have only 49 points to cutoff the employeability factor, but it needs 50. To your point, I have 47 points before adding spouse, dependents and finance.
Initially, I tried to access your posted link above, but seems like not working here... could you please share it again in this forum? Thanks again!
Thanks, mgmbbd said:Well first of all the online evaluation is just a primary way to know if you are eligible for the QSW program or not but it is not the ultimate tool to finalize your points. Now you have to calculate your own points and find out if you are eligible or not.
In my last post I didn't ask you to minus your spouse. I asked to minus your language, dependents (child++) and financial stability options. Now if you do not have 50 in that range then you should recheck your points, as it is required. You have to have 50 to overcome first hurdle to get selected for the next hurdle where the point threshold is 57.
I hope things are now clear to you. You can always refer to my previous posts (my initial 2/3 posts) where you'll find a number of documents to guide you with the point table.
All the best.
What about your spouse's education and area of training? Can you manage some points there or not? Then even if you add Language point then also it's below 50. I think other forum members can also help you out with the calculation.cool_canada said:Thanks,
Let me breakdown a bit more here - but it seems I may not be eligible for this PNP .
Education Master's = 12 points
AOT Section C = 6 points
Experience +48 months = 8 points
Age 18 - 35 = 16
Spouse age = 2 Points
Total = 44 ~ 6 points below the 50 mark
Language English only ~ 5 points
Dependents ~ 8 points
Finance ~ 1 point
Overall total = 44 + 14 = 58 points.
Do share your educational details and hope members would surely help you out. Provide as many details as you can for better replies. 8)snickers_21 said:Hello, thanks for creating this thread for 2017 intake. I checked midi website and it says that I am eligible, however I want to manually compute my points. I got a question about my qualification, I am not sure how many points I can claim. There are Post-Secondary, Technical and Undergraduate. I'm into IT field and not sure if I fall on Technical. Any ideas what to do here?
Well what I understand is that, the TERMS ENGINEER & COMPUTER ENGINEERING are very important for MIDI. What I have seen in various online articles regarding QSW that if you have any of these terms in your Degree Certificate, then MIDI would count that as a big YES (found someone). Even a Degree in Computer Engineering & BSc in Information Technology are surely different, even BSc Computer Science as well. They have different course contents as well. So I am not sure whether you would get what points based on your AOT!!! You can wait if someone reply here with your scenario. I am sure, someone will help you out.snickers_21 said:Hi mgmbbd, I had BS in Information Technology and my current work is in line with my course which is in IT too. Any idea how many points can I claim for my education? Thanks
Okay wait a minute! I just noticed, did you say 51,000?? Wasn't it 10,000 in 2016?mgmbbd said:Hi Friends,
Just few days ago Quebec’s immigration minister has announced plans to allow about 51,000 new arrivals into the province in 2017 and even more in the future ???.
Those who are planning to apply in future (from Outside Canada) for the QSW 2017 program are requested to discuss all their queries here.
I'll keep on updating this thread time to time 8).
Start exploring.
Both of us are right. 10,000 primary applicants & 51,000 total admits (applicant + family members + other admits). ;Dfahadsheikh said:Okay wait a minute! I just noticed, did you say 51,000?? Wasn't it 10,000 in 2016?
Always welcome and surely would get someone to answer your query.snickers_21 said:Thanks @mgmbbd. I surely don't know if I am qualified to apply as I want to manually compute my points but hard to guess the education qualification. For those with similar course like me BS IT, please share your experiences here. Thanks.

Next intake won't be First Come First Server. It would closely resemble "Expression of Interest" process.mgmbbd said:Hope not... ;D
