Honestly, I am not surprised that nursing lost points. From what I have read recently, there has been a huge load of Filipino nurses who recently landed in Québec (their processing time is ridiculously short for some unknown reason). Hence, I would say the province has already been able to cover the majority of its shortage in that field. They merely adjusted the point system to their current needs.

Calm Down Guys! If you already applied before the 26 Jan 2015 and got AOR then you are fine.

Point two on their website says it all:

""The 2015 List of areas of training (PDF, 212 Kb) applies to all applications as of January 26, 2015""

Calma!

Hi Stylove, as much as I want to believe what you are claiming, I cant help but have some confusion regarding the effectivity date. If you will remember, cap was reached in august last year, considering you are correct why it so happen that they put January 26,2015 when in fact there isn't any application received by them starting august. Isn't it logical to think that this rule is retroactive and it really affects our applications?

"The 2015 List of areas of training (PDF, 212 Kb) applies to all applications as of January 26, 2015" means that it is retroactive concerning ALL applications that have not been finalized yet. They used the same choice of words when they modified the temporary worker stream in June last year. All applications that were not finalized yet were affected. I know what I am talking about. I was one of them.

If this is what they meant it would state ¨applies to all applications submitted after January 26, 2015¨ and not ¨applies to all applications as of January 26, 2015¨.

someone from another thread in this forum posted that their lawyer received an email from MIDI that the change applies to all applicants before and after Jan 26 :( I hope those who got lawyers/consultants can confirm this too.

They should have said, "the new Aot list will apply to all applications as of Jan 26' 2015". "Applies" here is in the present tense, simply means that it is happening at the moment. Therefore there are existing applications at the time these new rules are implemented. To whom it will apply if there are no applications yet? Just my two cents...

In any case......we have little or nothing to change! Let's just deal with it their way! Crazy Quebec people....why don't they just cancel the program..... :-X >:(

They just can not cancel the program because they need us...doctors as their taxi drivers, lawyers as their security guards, nurses as their caregivers, and so on lol..

The truth behind all these mess lies through the genuine intention of quebec government in selecting their prospective immigrants. The real thing is they really want to preserve their native tounge. This is their way to making sure only dedicated and persistent people who were able to learn their language will be entering their province and become successful citizens.

How would they cancel the program when its giving them good turns of income from applicants no matter what ....Even if you are losing points ,disqualify ,rejection due to new rules its still worthy for them..
