Dear raistlin17phil,

Your reply is much appreciated and thank you very much for sending me the link! :D
I just really need more info about the QSW program because I am planning to send an
application after having my IELTS result :) I'll be taking the exam on Sept 7. I've done my own research regarding this current program but my delving wouldn't be better without this awesome forum ;)

merci beaucoup

Good day!! I am new here and I'm really pleased to have seen this forum.. been reading posts that are informative! :D

I have this question; Do I really need a lawyer who would represent me? ..or I can do the application and processing myself?
Also, my COE states "Certificate of Competency and Deployment" Will it be accepted? I have worked as a rural health nurse
under the Registered Nurse for Health Enhancement and Local Services (RN HEALS) program of the Department of Health. The contract was
finished 6 mos ago. Our salary was given through atm card and we were not given payslip. And one more thing, the money that we receive every month is called "stipend" not really a salary. Will my work experience still fall in AOT - Nursing (Dcs) ?

Thank you :D

As it says on CIC website applying with a lawyer formally doesn't give any advantages to the applicant. If you have a strong profile you can do it on your own. However, I wouldn't underestimate since it really helps a lot. For example, I got my CSQ within 6 months from the moment that I just decided to apply and without a lawyer I wouldn't make it for sure. I didn't know such tricky things that work experience can be counted only if it was paid and also if provided proof of tax and social security contribution. Such things are never mentioned anywhere on immigration websites :)! I know many people who got their applications returned because of inaccuracies or incomplete documents. That cause substantial delays that in worst case scenario can lead to rejection because selection rules are subject to change; like the recent harsh ones with a B2 french requirements. I studied and worked in the US and all the ones that I know who finally managed to get a green card hired lawyers. I'm talking about regular peoples like students and young professionals who didn't get married with a US citizen and didn't have relatives/connections out there. All of them hired a consultant and that was quite pricey. Of course we can't even closely compare the difficulty of immigration to the US and Canada, but still it's useful to apply with a lawyer if you have some funds. Otherwise, if you decide to apply on your own it's better to consult with lots of applicants who already succeeded.

Thank you very much Ievgen and Geochaddy. I think I would really need the help of these lawyers to help me during the process :D

To those who are all familiar with the selection criteria and point system, I implore you to check if I had done the right calculation of my credentials.
Here is it:

Area of training: Nursing 16 Points

Level of Education: Undergraduate diploma attesting to 10 points
3 or more years of full-time studies
(I have studied Bachelors of Science in Nursing for 4 years
here in the Philippines)

Work Experience: 6 to 11 months 4 points

Age: 23 16 points

Language Profeciency: French 0
English 4 points
(haven't taken the IELTS exam yet but I believe I can
and will do my best to get a score of 4)

Financial Self-sufficiency: 1 point

TOTAL 51

I believe that this is a positive result without the points for adaptability yet. Should I pursue my application? :D

P.S. raistlin17phil, thanks a whole lot for the email you sent me yesterday ;D

LIVE. LAUGH. LOVE ;)

Looks right. With a good english you meet the required point threshold. If we don't account for the fact that you might take french exam in the future so far you need 4 adaptability points during an interview. That's not impossible, but to secure the CSQ for sure it's better to start learning french.

Dear Ievgen,

Thanks for making time going through my scores and posts as well!!
I am so glad to know that I can pursue my application. Praise God! :D
I should start learning French right NOW :P

Take care. God bless! :D

Hi everyone! Anyone here from the philippines who has recntly filled there csq application. Can i ask your method of payment? Which bank you used for the cheque? Is it safer to use credit card or cheque. Thank you. Iam kinda worried on how i should pay the fees.

Im not from Phils but if you have a CC with you, go ahead and use it, and keep it safe till the money is deducted. CCs are better because it might take longer to get expired unlike most cheques that expire after 3 months....

My opinion only

Thanks for your reply gucci10, I don't have an official agency yet. I just tried to send my resume together with my husband cv to ENHANCE VISA and then they said I got a total of 58 points and the threshold for married is 57.
