On August 14th, I will have worked here for exactly one year. Therefore I was planning to change from the QSW program to the PEQ program, since it is said to be a lot faster.

If you have B2 in French it is super easy. My colleague got his CSQ in just 6 working days. Ofcource you should be in higher job in NOC and work in Quebec for atleast 1 year in last 24 months. Good luck.

Yes my friend you should get an update from them in 30 days or less!!!!!

I have read some posts in the forum that even after recieving this letter, people are waiting for 3-5 months and still no news from MICC. One funny thing is that the predictions dont work good with Quebec immigration. No one knows how this process works.

I scored C1, so in terms of French there should be no issue. My current job in linguistics is considered to be skill level B, so that works out as well. Since my initial application has been filed 7 months ago, I'm hoping that they'll move my file to the front of the queue and issue my CSQ rather quickly.

What I don't quite get is if I am then eligible for an open work permit (once I received my CSQ and submitted my federal application). I am very well aware of the fact that once you submit your federal application for programs like FSW or PNP, you can immediately apply for an open work permit. On the CIC homepage, though, it is not stated that applicants for the QSW program are included as well. Even on the homepage of the government of Quebec it doesn't say anything about it. However, if I do the questionnaire on CIC, the reults are: eligible for an open work permit.

Has anyone who received their CSQ, submitted their federal application and who is currently living in Canada on a valid work permit ever applied for an open work permit?

Cant you send a letter to transfer your file from regular to PEQ? Dont just expect that they will move your file to the front. Your could be lost in pile they keep in the office. Just imagine they have some 40000 applications in the Montreal office at the moment. I think this can be done. I heard from my lawyer that he changed the file status from Regular to PEQ for one of his clients who recently cleared the B2 level.

I dont know about Open work permit but Quebec website says that you can change the jobs with any employer. Which means that you get closed work permit with any employer you want. I dont see much difference here. Open work permit lets you can change employer any time but in second case, you need to wait for your new WP processing.

That was the plan. Obviously you need to notify them of the change of classes, including an attestation from your employer, as well and the first and the last two paychecks you received. It's not like they don't have anything to do at the office and have people browsing through the massive piles of applications each day, searching for applicants who have been employed here for longer than a year in the meanwhile.

And concerning the closed work permit: Sure, I won't need an LMIA any more, which is great. However, it takes 2 months for a closed work permit to be processed plus the fee and the pain in the ass that comes with it. An open work permit would just be so much less of a hassle...

What did your consultant say about renewing your CSQ?

I think you have to renew it before landing. You can't land without a CSQ because that's one of the docs being checked when completing the landing procedures.....

I think you have to renew it before landing. You can't land without a CSQ because that's one of the docs being checked when completing the landing procedures.....

but what happen if they issue visa and csq is being renew any idea please.
