I just got visa office eligibility review complete but the information has remained the same as when it was RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE.

I never got AOR from london so i am still using the old number sent with the initial application from CIC Canada.

However, incase this is a rejection, do i get my money back ie the $550 CAD?
Two, what are my chances of a study permit at this time? Is it going to be a waste of my time applying for study permit? I have a masters offer with part scholarship. The issue is that if I should apply for study permit, i should be doing that by now as its June already so I am really short for time to wait for rejection letter ( if indeed it is).

so what is your take on this issue? I am more interested in my studies than permanent residence.

If its rejected you will get the processing fee back. If you apply for study permit it will be difficult since the visa officer will know that you applied for PR for Canada and you have all the intentions to stay in Canada so you might have to give solid proof of returning back like you have some property in your name and all which proves that you will come back. But it is not impossible so you can and should try if you really want to go for studies but just keep documentation perfect as it can be.

hi GROUSI

A. do not lose hope until u receive the rejection letter in ur hand. still it's a 50-50 as London CHC is not reliable & efficient. so, hang in there & wait for the hard copy of the letter. in the meantime u can also send a case specific enquiry to London CHC through the following link & ask them to give u an update in ur case:

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=london

B. for argument's sake, let's say u got rejected:

1. u will get ur C$550 back

2. if u r from a country like mine where many people immigrate illegally & as a result many people get rejected for student visa based on the CHC's assumption (not based on fact) that the student visa applicant won't come back to his/ her own coutry; in that case it might be a bit difficult to convince the IO that u will definitely comeback. ur application for Canadian PR has made things a bit complicated (but not yet impossible)

3. show as much ties as possible with ur own country to convince the visa officer that u will come back like on going business, bought property, spouse-kids-old parents & the list goes on.

4. to play safe just write a nice & convincing cover letter to Student Immigration Officer that u did apply for PR. but now u no longer wanna stay in Canada for the rest of ur life as u have so many ties/ relationships in back home. this way u r being honest with them & also showing ur intent again to come back .u can do this as the IO will/ might automatically know after he/ she receives ur application for study permit that u applied for PR b4. as i am not sure if they actually cross check with any of ur exixting/ past application for any Canadian visa.

5. the summary is u won't know until u apply for the student visa as all the info i said is hypothetical & it might turn up that ur student visa application may b successful. if i were u, i would apply for the student visa (as u have got the scholarship) & keep my fingers crossed.

6. still, if u r feeling confused, u can find a very good lawyer who can help/ advice u on the complexitites involved.

good luck ......................

When was the last time you contacted London CHC or they contacted you by email or any other intimation. Share you complete time lines and accordingly will suggest.
