Hello, Can you travel out of Canada after you did your landing at the border and before you receive your PR card in the mail?

If not, what other document would one need to obtain?

Not by air/sea.

Your PR card is your travel document along with your passport once you are a PR.

You can only travel across to US by land and enter Canada by showing your copy of CoPR at the port of entry.

If you are planning to travel by air, wait for your PR card to arrive in mail.

Thanks. Let's say I need to travel by air often in the next 3 months.

Can I not land as a PR at the border when I come back the first time? Maybe I'll come back and land the second time. Is that possible?

You will need a PR Travel document to re-enter Canada if you don't have PR card with you. You have to apply seprately for the document.
