I just realized after trying to link my account online that I put the wrong passport number on my actual application that I sent out and that they received in sept of this year. What do I do..im just missing one number in it. Will they refuse my application or send it back to me because of that? Can I write them and tell them about it to change it and if so where can I write them about it to change it. Please Help me. (btw I did take a picture of my passport like they asked so they have the right number...but the wrong number in the form I filled out) Oh please someone help me and tell me some good news..I cant bear anymore things going wrong.

Did you receive some sort of communication (AOR perhaps) from CIC that you tried to link it already? Or were you just trying to see if you could get lucky and link it early?

When did you sent your application and when did u get their confirmation letter? Did you have to wait for very long to get it?

they already wrote me and told me I have 7 days to link it...and I tried and failed because I realized i was putting in my correct passport number but on the application form I sent I was missing one number in my passport number...So Im wondering what to do and what will happen because of that one number missing on my application. Will they return it to me, deny me? What can I do to tell them its wrong and to give them the correct passport number? Do I mail a letter, call, email? What do I put? Im so stressed

It wont be returned as you got the aor. You can call and tell them as well as sumbit a case specific enquiry with the correct number. They have a copy with the right one. Should be good!!!

When you link app, you don't need type section passport. I did and successed.
Type exactly information when you fill app, you will link ur app.

Yep sounds like you are fine then because they have opened it an not sent it back, and sent your AOR.

With errors they will just send it straight back.. It won't go into the system, you won't get AOR and therefore no invite to link.

I would either wait it out or try sending a case specific enquiry to be matched up to your application.

You would have had to of sent a photocopy of the original, so I'm sure you're fine. Specially if it's only off by one digit or something obvious. I would just send a case specific inquiry asking if it's an issue and telling them you're more than willing to resubmit it via Case specific inquiry if they need it.

Hi, i have been in similar situation. i need help about what to do.
i was trying to link my husband's file ( he is PA) using the application number we received on biometric fee form and also by using his passport number . as was suggested by another member of the group.
i was going to trying to find his passport number from IMM0008 ( generic application form for canada) and meanwhile i also asked my husband about his passport number. when he sent me his passport number, we found out there was a typo in the form and one letter was mistyped.

we have not received AOR but our application was received 23/aug/2018 and since then we only heard once from CIC , they sent my husband a letter requesting biometric fee, which we submitted right away.
my husband just submitted a query on webform any other suggestion to what we should do to rectify this? do you think our file will be returned?
in our query we mentioned it was a unintentional mistake and we didn't mean to send false information. but since IMM0008 is a main form with barcodes and stuff. do you think they will return our application. everthing else on that form is correct though.

Really all you can do is send in a webform explaining the situation. They may or may not return the application, it's hard to really say.
