Can anyone tell me:

(1) How you can convince the VO about your "PURPOSE OF VISIT"? What they expect? What is the most convincing way to write your purpose of visit?
(2) How they will be convinced that you have strong local ties while your spouse is in Canada? What local ties will weight more compared to your Canadian ties (wife & childrens are Canadian living there).

I think those two are the major hurdles to overcome when you are applying for a TRV pending spousal PR application. It is quite spontaneous on the part of the visa officers to refuse you just mentioning those two easy points.

Hi Hasan,

There's no textbook answer to your questions. Your situation is unique just like everyone else.

(1) How you can convince the VO about your "PURPOSE OF VISIT"? What they expect? What is the most convincing way to write your purpose of visit?
For your *purpose of visit*, you can prepare a day-by-day itinerary for the visit. This will show you have a good idea of what you plan to do + you have the funds for this itinerary.

(2) How they will be convinced that you have strong local ties while your spouse is in Canada? What local ties will weight more compared to your Canadian ties (wife & childrens are Canadian living there).
Again, there's no textbook answer nor a checklist that all applicants can use.

You must assess what your strong ties are in your home country.... and what hard evidence you will provide to convince the visa officer.

With a spouse and kids in Canada, one can expect it to be tougher to prove that s/he will return to the home country. Most applicants think they can use the TRV route to bypass the lengthy PR process. Hence, TRV refusals are common

Cheers

Hello Bryanna,

It was so nice of you helping forum members with your well thought opinion. Thank you.

I am just wondering why so many people got rejected with strong application over those two controversial points.

Yes each case is different. For me, I visited with visit visa before to Canada while my PR application was under process. Although my visit visa was refused in Dhaka, I got visit visa subsequently while traveling in USA. That was over a decade ago . It was a paper based application at that time. I got the visa on the same day I applied!

Being a PR I travelled back & forth over dozen times, but eventually lost status for not physically staying required period. Now why I can't convince them anymore that if I am granted a TRV, even for a week,I will not overstay there jeopardising my ongoing spousal PR application!. Sometimes I feel that I should request them to provide me paid police escort during my proposed period of visit! Or let them give a conditional TRV asking to report them everyday until my departure. Or any other arrangements or conditions whatever(my wife's personal guarantee or bank guarantee!)who cares!

Even if you submit a really complete application package, you come up with those two simple reasons!

Last point(PM REPLY): Why do you think that your TRV refusals will delay PR application decision? Some forum members in other threads commented that TRV refusal has nothing to do with PR application process or decision!
