purpose of travel - supporting documents

this requirement asks to prooff that the applicant is going to Canada Temporary, such as

• Your flight ticket departing Canada,
• Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking),
• Proof of a medical appointment.

but how could I buy tickets or start travel arrangements if I don´t have the confirmation of the visa. Moreover, the visas are for attending a gradution ceremony next year and we don´t have the dates confirmed yet. What type of proof could I provide then?

It ask for your travel itinerary (but not actual flight & hotel booking). Estimate the dates of the graduation ceremony.
