By the way, my purpose for this trip is to visit my children in University.

The "purpose of travel" can be documented in your child's invitation letter. Just make it detail.

You can get an invitation letter from your kids. The letter should mention you will be staying with them and also show a proof of funds they will use to support you, unless you are going to show that. School records (enrollment or transcript records) may be good to have but I doubt they would ask for them. The more important documents to show is your connections to your home country.

it must be a detailed invitation letter. because just visiting in a university seems just a shallow reason to visit there unless its graduation day I guess since its an important event to your children as well as to you, in which your presence is necessary! :-X

Purpose of travel is anything that shows you why are you travelling and any evidence that support those claims.

In this case it is very simple.

A letter of invitation, your children's study permit and letter of enrollment should be more than enough.
