PURPOSE OF TRAVEL AND EXPLANATION LETTER

So am applying via the online application for temporary visint visa although i am currently processing my spousal sponsorship on the side. the thing is that my wife just put to bed and i desperately need to carry my new son with both mother and son based and citizens of canada. i've submittded most of the forms but am stuck with purpose or travel and explanation letter..any tips

Hi! I am currently in the same situation as you. while sponsorship application still in process... I just submitted my application TRV I was stuck in this same questions. on purpose of travel I just specified the dates and the places I will visit in Canada and also I added some online reservations of places.
on the explanation letter I just specified that I am currently applying for a Resident card, and I explained the reason why I want to go there. I don't know is this will help me to get the tourist visa but is what I did.
