what is happening is to be tracked. see that will create confidence and than you can tell doctor that why you are asking further medication as my test are negative. . . . . .
it is alwyas preferable to discuss personally instead of on paper for such matter
and once doctor write anything (further test) and uploade (may be due to doubt) than he/she cant revert back. so its better to meet and discuss if any doubt.

Thanks Vats for additional info. There's no harm in trying anyways so my husband will talk to the Dr. in IOM again before paying the sputum test. This Friday is his schedule to pay the fee.

Hello everyone, i just want to ask anyone who had experience or knowledge about this specially those filipinos who undergone medicals at slec global. We were informed by the nurse at slec global after 2 days of medicals of my husband that he is for pulmonary evaluation by a pulmonary specialist at slec in ermita and we have to bring his previous xray if any. I ask him whatwas the result of his xray he told me that the doctor will just explain. Do you think he will undergo sputum smear or culture in this case?All his previous xray 3 months ago and 1year ago was all normal. It just happened that he had colds and follwed by cough a week before his medicals but other than that he is ok. Anybody here experienced to undergone pulmonary evaluation and was not submitted to tb test like sputum culture/smear. My husband happens to have asthma also. Thanks in advance.

I think your husband will undergo sputum smear (Php 2,625.00) & culture (Php 5,588.00) as required by the CANADIAN VISA office (according to the doctor who attended to my wife's evaluation)

we have the same problems with slec global! my wife also undergone medical evaluation and advised to have sputum smear (3 consecutive days) & culture (2 months) whether you like it or not. she is done with the sputum smear with NEGATIVE result, we are just waiting for culture result which is due two months after her sputum smear. she is also scheduled to undergo another x-ray (Php 875.00) on August 18, 2014.

the results of sputum test will received after 2 months which is 6-8th august
than she need to do rexray on 3rd month from medical xray date

keep in touch with medical centre on spurum test days

Hi Andy,

Where did your mom had her medical? My husband is scheduled for June 16,17 &18 in IOM. Although after their medical, he consulted a pulmonologist for 2nd opinion just to have a peace of mind and precaution since we have kids who can be affected if he's really positive. As expected he is negative and unmarked lungs as the pulmonologist stated on his report.

We're just waiting for the sputum and hope days will just pass by quickly for the result.

yes he did and the 3 days smear was also negative, we just have to wait for the culture on july 23. Were you requested repeat xray already after 3 months?because in our case no xray was requested yet, maybe because the doctor took his old xray film which is normal and told us it will be sent to the embassy. Goodluck to us.

My Mom took medical at St Luke's Global last May 29, 14 with my sister and brother, repeat chest xray for my Mom on same day, went to St Luke's Ermita for my mother pulmo eval dated June 2, 2014 then instructed my Mom to come back for sputum test was scheduled last June 4, 5 and 6 then my mother need to come back again after a wk for smear result. I hope negative result and won't take medication for 6 months.

Negative smear. Scheduled for X ray Sept 1st, required to pay php1,750 and instructed my Mom to go to St Luke's Ermita asap if in case my mother receive letter fr Canadian Embassy before Sept 1, 2014.

Hi kylie, i read your post just now. You know what i did? When iom said they found something on my xray, i immediately consulted a pulmo. He did series of xrays and test, he did asked me to have meds for two months. When the sputum came out and its negative, my attending physician from iom asked me to ask for a clearance from pulmo. So i gave the referral to the pulmo who checked on me, and he said that the thing they saw in my xray could possibly a scar from an old pulmo problem. I'm a bit surprise though that with the negative smear test, the pulmo still asked your husband to undergo six months meds. If that is the case, he will have to follow whatever recom the pulmo gave. You will really have to wait for the period. I think that one will also be monitored.

Anyways, i called the cic abt the med survey that i have to undergo. A rep from a clinic here in my place will do the skin tb test. She said that if the test turns negative then i'm ok. No need for further test...

Hi my husband received a call yesterday from st lukes global to redo his xray tom june 17 and ask to bring 900 for the xray. My husband is no a smoker and just drink occasionally. He was not advice to do some test just repeat the xray. I am a bit anxious for st lukes global is slow in submitting medical to CEM. Is there anyone eho had the same case that was ask to repeat the xray?

My Mother re did x ray on the same day of her Medical at St Lukes Global and few days later took sputum test. Your Husband might to undergo sputum test or clear the result.
