Pretty much everything. But the biggest thing is the coverage because that is most important. A subway can be clean and high tech and etc but means nothing if it doesn't go where you need to go. How does Toronto compare?

Besides the coverage, if you look at amenities, cleanness, safety, adjusted pricing (per distance), etc you will see that Toronto falls behind in all those other categories.

If you don't like driving and public transport is not what you are used to, then you have a few options. You learn to live with it or Canada may not be the right place for you.
Public transport is not all or nothing, but its definitely a thing which will steer where I decide to live in Canada
