Has anyone ever applied for a PRTD through email? I see that it is an option.. do I still need to send in the passport and 2 pictures?

Others can comment as well but my interpretation would be that you need to send electronic copies of everything including passport page copies , digital photos basically follow the document checklist and add copy itinerary or ticket

Makes no sense for the actual passport to be sent anywhere given this is an exception process for when a VAC is closed so maybe would assume any visa would be returned electronically via email.

Note in common with other applications you probably need to include a scanned copy the document checklist as well although this is not specifically mentioned in the link.

I heard they are taking time due to COVID now they can take up to 2 months. my application already completed 4 weeks. Since now flight is closed till 31st October 2020. Don't think vfs will open in India soon. Let me know if you receive any update from vfs.
By the in your application did u submit itinerary and flight details as well?

I submit soft copy of all documents except flight details as I don't know when I will receive the prtd.

How are you folks following with IRCC on the PRTD processing status?

i have applied on 8th of Aug; Linked with GCKEY; still waiting the status is Submitted, no update after that.

I guess you can follow up on same email id once you have 5 weeks which is normal processing time before covid.
