That's a very good question.

Because London is way more expensive than Montreal in every sense, I will be paid in GBP and not in CAD. The idea is that they pay me in a UK Bank and not here in Canada...

So technically then that could be read you are on a perm job transfer and not a temporary assignment from the Canadian company who might be expected to pay your salary in Canada and an assignment allowance for working temporarily in the UK like an inter company transfer the other way around to meet a temporary requirement. All down I guess to interpretation to show is not a perm move.
