PRTD processing time from India

I will be staying back in Mumbai, India for only a week and do not have the PR card as yet, photo retake issues. Do I have to visit VFS personally or I can send my passport from Canada to an agent and get the PRTD done and get the passport back?

You have to visit the VFS personally and PRTD cannot be obtained before leaving Canada. You only have 3 options either wait for your PR Card or be ready to wait in India for a month to get PRTD or if you have US visa then you can enter through private vehicles from US border using your COPR.

I am from India and holding Indian Passport. I became PR in last December and came back to India to complete notice period to my employer. My PR card is delivered to my cousin's place in Canada. Now I am planning to back in next couple of month and going to apply for PRTD. My question is whether the PRTD is given with minimum validity of 6 months or the tentative travel date plays a role in it?

I will be applying from Bangalore VFS. How long does it take typically from there?

My husband had forwarded his PRTD application from VFS Mumbai on 14th Feb 2019 and we have not yet received any update.Is anyone faced the same issue or facing it currently.We have return flight on 11th April 2019 for which all the details have been sent to visa office.My husband has three years T4 and have all the obligations met and still they are taking so long.....reallyy worried

15th Feb 2019(bangalore visa office)-PRTD application received at Bangalore Visa Office

27th Feb 2019-additional document request(all pages of expired passport)(which was already forwarded with original package)(send the scan copies same day)(emailed received notification received)

5th March 2019-requested to send the same document again as they were not able to open all the attached pdf file(send the scan copies same day)(email received notification received)

19th March 2019- requested Entry Exit form (which was already send in original application)(forwarded typed and signed entry exit form same day )(previous entry exit form was provided at VFS office and was hand written)

20th March 2019-Email received notification received

5th April 2019-Request Letter Submitted at VFS mumbai

8th April 2019-Urgent Request Letter Submitted at VFS mumbai

Please anyone can suggest anything or advice something on this.

Would encourage you to get your cousin to courier your PR card to you. Then you have control over the situation and don’t have to go through the hassle of getting PRTD and wondering how long it will take to get processed.

I am writing my experience as this forum helped me a lot
Profile: I did soft landing in Canada on July 16, 2019 and came back within a week to India.
- Applied for PRTD at VFS Hyderabad on July 25, 2019
- Application reached Visa Office Bangalore on July 26, 2019
- Passport dispatched from Visa office August 5, 2019
- Passport received on August 6, 2019

While applying PRTD, I didn't give the cover letter stating the urgency that I would be traveling in 3 weeks. I was nervous during the whole time and also raised a query via webform and email to the IRCC office. Didn't get any reply but received the passport within 10 days

Can anyone please any example of covering letter than explains the requirement of PRTD ?

Also, if anyone can answer following questions, it will be really helpful.

1. Processing time in India to get PRTD ?
2. What are the documents required to get PRTD ?
3. Any chance of rejection in getting PRTD ?
4. If PRTD is issued or I applied for PRTD as single and there is change in marital status after that, will that cause any issue?
5. Can I book ticket only after getting PRTD ?
6. Is it fine to use PRTD even if PR card is received (with the help of my cousin from Canada to India) before I board the flight? Reason behind asking this is that I might have booked tickets using PRTD considering that is required to book the ticket.

PS: I'm planning to do soft landing from India in October and stay in Canada for 10 days.

I applied PRTD VFS Ahmedabad and they sent my application to Banglore on 18th September,till i am waiting for PRTD.w this time period i requested for solemn declaration request and i send it by fax and reply on the email from Banglore.
I Need to know that what is the processing time after this solemn declaration?
