Same here. Landed on Feb 22nd. Yet to receive PR card. Resubmitted my photos on April 11th. I have to travel India next week for 10 days due to some emergency reasons. I am not sure whether to cancel my trip or travel anyway and apply for PRTD.

As per the forum you will get it in 5 days if you have all correct documents.
I applied in vfs Hyderabad and passport transferred to Bangalore. Got passport in ten days given that it took 5 days total in courier to and fro.
Select option for picking up the passport from vfs office.

Hello guys,
I need your help please. I became PR on march 15 2018. I am currently unemployed in Canada. I want to go to India for a two week vacation in June and it looks like I will not be receiving pr card till July since they asked me to resubmit photos last week. I want to go to India badly because I have been in Canada for the last three years and I want to meet my parents. Here are my questions:

1. if I go to India in June, is there a chance my prtd application will get rejected since I don't have a job here in Canada and hence no valid reason to come back to Canada?
2. What reason should I give in cover letter since it is not an emergency situation for me to go to India?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. cheers!!!

1. Since you recently became PR I don’t see any reason to get prtd rejected.

2. You can simply say Due to family reason you came to India and you are applying for PRTD to go back. That’s what I mentioned in my prtd application.

Employed or unemployed doesn’t matter once you become PR.

Hi, Me and My wife will be travelling to Toronto for first time in June, 2018. Post that, I will stay back and my wife will return to India. Hence, I will collect both the PR cards after say 45-60 days. My wife will join me back in next 4-5 months. So for second trip, can my wife apply for PRTD document although I will be holding her PR card in Toronto? Assumption here: No travels from my side within that 4-5 months and courier for PR card is generally not suggestible. Please advice. Thanks.

You can send the pr card through courier many people did that and it’s not illegal. You can also send the card with someone you know if they are going to India

I can provide Social Insurance and CoPR along with application and passport.
Along with this should I be furnishing anything else? like a doc certificate and so on?

I didn’t submit any extra documents for family reason. I just mentioned that in my cover letter ‘Due to family reason has to travel to india’ thats It.

Hello All, Update on my status ! Landed as a PR on Feb 27th 2018. Got request for new photos on April 16th. Travelled to India on May 12th and submitted PRTD application on May 14th @ Chennai VFS. Got the passport back on May 23rd with two years PRTD - multiple entry. Good luck !
