PRTD - Only for valid reasons?

Hi everyone,

I had a situation where I need help from this community. My wife son and I landed first time on.12 March 2018 from.UAE. Post this my wife and son left Canada on 30th March (without PR card) while I have stayed back. My wife needs to travel back in June back to Canada and hence after reaching UAE she applied for PRTD maybe around 10april.Till now Prtd has not come (30 April.) However mine and my son's PR Card has come via mail today. Now we are worried why only my wife's PR card hasn't come if all of us applied together. Has the application for PRTD has affected the Pr card process. Does the PR card team see that a PRTD is in process so.they stalled her new PR card ?

No there was no effect on her PR card. Just be patient her card should arrive soon. I would imagine this week.

The PRTD app has nothing to do with it. PR cards for families often arrive separately. It may also be due to issues with her photos. She may be requested to send new photos.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I too initially thought it might be due to photos. So if her photos are indeed an issue, how will we get the notification? is it a mailed letter to the address given while applying?

Would first wait a week or two. Could just be a mail delivery issue.

You could also just call the service desk and ask them. They should be able to tell you if there is a photo issue or not. Also ask them the registered address on her profile.
You should call at exactly 7.55 am if you want to get through.

Thanks a lot Rocky, Ananad and Canuck...received the PR card last week for my wife (2 weeks after I got mine) and there was no issue regarding photos...so I don't know why the delay happened (but now it doesn't matter)

but she still hasn't got her PRTD (45 days since application)...well I am just planning to courier the PR card if the PRTD doesn't come in time

Now i am 26 and presently working in USA.
Applied for Express Entry but PR denied since my records in file
Should i apply for PRTD and will it be successful or renounce PR and apply for a fresh PR

Also how many months to get a grant or refusal for PRTD

Renounce your PR status and reapply for express entry.

I landed Canada on august 13, 2018 and came back on August 15, 2018. My copr was expiring on Sept 28, 2018. Now if i wish to re enter canada on sept 25. Am i eligible for prtd.. Will visa officer doubt my case because i had copr expiring on sept 28 and he might think i could havw entered first time only on sept 25

Now since i came back in 3 days.. Still can i apply for prtd immediately.

Thanks.. One more point, i haven't got my first PR card yet. I just went there for 3 days completed my landing formalities and came back due to lesser number of holidays from my office. Now if i apply immediately just after returning now for PRTd won't that be a problem.. I wish to travel again finally in oct 2018
