I have a trip planned to Europe in June 2 but need a valid travel document from Canada to apply for a schengen visa(which takes about two weeks to process). If I apply as urgent PRTD, will I get the PRTD in Canada ? Or in Europe ?
Hey, I am in a similar situation. Problem is, I cant apply for Schengen visa until I have a valid pr card right?

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the story. May I ask how long did it take you to get the PRDT?

I submitted my PR application 3 months ago (May 1st) and an urgency request last month. IRCC confirmed that they received and approved the urgency request, however, I plan to travel at the end of August and afraid that my PR card won't arrive in time. I'm planning to apply for the PRTD and will pick it up in my home country. Since I have to travel to a few destinations, I just want to know approximately how long it normally takes.

Thanks.

Hi,

Did you end up apply for the PRTD, or did you return to Canada on your permit? I am in a similar situation and I'm trying to figure out if I need to apply for the PRTD or return without it.

Thank you

What `permit' are you referring to?

You will need either a PR Card or a PRTD to return to Canada via a commercial carrier.

I have a work permit and a multiple entry visa, and I received my COPR while away

Did you get the electronic COPR, after you had declared that you were in Canada?

You'll have to contact IRCC. The eCOPR was supposed to be received in Canada. Now it gets complicated.

yes I did, I was in Canada but had to leave

You'll have to contact IRCC. You have the issue that you have a doc that says you became a PR on a specific date that was predicated on you being in Canada on that day.
