I dont think it is very cold now in Toronto (i am not there now, but you can check weather websites)

better buy winter cloths in canada, you will have wide variety and it will be best for that weather. Options are limited in Bangalore, Chennai and sometimes will not be sufficient. Cost wise there would not be too big a difference.

my experience...a huge single coat is useless in canadian cold.THe idea is to wear in layers.. 1 sweat suit ,then a sweater and then any coat will suffice.
