Hi all;

Sorry if this issue has been discussed before.

My sister introduced me to a girl she knew for the last 4 years and i traveled to suadi arabia to meet her, we engaged and spent a month together but when we were about to get married , the authorities said I can not proceed with the marriage cause I am on a visa.

They asked me to have a power of attorney from canada sent to suadi arabia to get the marriage licence.

my question is :

Can I still send in the application without wedding photos as I will not be there?

Thanks in advance for your help.

yes you can send the application once you have the marriage liscence with your explanation along with proof that you are in a genuine relationship and not just facilitating someone coming to Canada, for that i strongly suggest that you get the proper documents together and go back and marry, going back to marry after the first meeting will help your application, failing that send in the application and try your best to go back during the process take more pics and send in proof that you have traveled there again, of course with the application you need to send in copies of emails, chat logs, phone records, proof that you traveled there, pics of the two of you, as well as pics with the family, on the back write the aproximate date and where the pic was taken who is in the pic

immigration wants proof that the relationship is genuine and will continue once the applicant arrives in Canada, so for example if you are currently living with family but are making arrangements to get your own place awaiting your spouses arrival, those sorts of things

different cultures have differnt norms, saudi arabia for instance would be a country where you wouldn't of had to meet and date for a while before marrying but you still need to prove that the intention on both parts is to live together after receiving the PR

Immigration is well aware of Proxy Marriages, but you should have some photos from when you were there in the last four years, to show you are together and such.Pictures of places you visited from when you was there.
If you get the documents together to return there to marry her that would be the best course of action,but if you cant, collect as much proof as you can,and then proceed with your proxy and your app.
We here will help you as much as we can but if you really want her here and you can travel then you know what you need to do.
Best of luck.

Well, I should have mentioned this;

my fiance is my brother in law niece and my sister knows her in person for the last four years when she moved from the united states to the suadi arabia.

I know her for 5 months now and we were communicating by phone mainly (using prepaid phone cards which I still keep),I decided we should meet in person, so I traveled to saudia arabia where we spent the last month together and we both fell in love with each other.
That is when I proposed to her.

Her parents agreed and we had engeged and I do have some photos with her.
I understand the issue with the wedding photos but I am afraid I can not afford the travel cost at this time.

Thanks so much for the advice.

If you communicate mainly by phone you need phone records that show your number and her number. Phone cards don't, so are useless as evidence. Find some way to phone her that leaves a record you can send in with your application. Use your landline, for example - it costs more, but you get evidence, which you need. Skype and some other internet phone services : it is possible to get a record of your calls with these as well, and they are free or cheap.

although it says that phone cards are not accepted as proof i submitted copies of phone records both from my cell and landline a couple calls a week, i wrote that calling morocco is aprx .75 cents a minute and so the only way i could afford to communicate at length was to use phone cards, it was thought of as a positive and noted in the CAIPS since i copied hundreds of phone cards, each card is numbered on the back and so served to show that i had been in constant contact, i caution though that sending phone records should also go with an explanation of the cost value of using phone cards,

Lois, you were lucky. Keeping and copying all the cards and submitting that with an explanation of how it was the only way you culd afford to call so much - good idea.
If you read appeal records, though, you'll see an awful lot of cases where the judge basically says, well, all they have is calling cards, which doesn't show who you were talking to.
If you don't have much evidence, I really think you'll need something better than calling cards as proof of contact. If you know other people in Saudi Arabia, in particular, they'll just say you might have been phoning them.

with calling cards they could say you have friends and have called every Country in the world as cards are not specific to any one country, it is best to send proof of calls providing cell phone bills or landline bills, and ogument those with calling cards with the explanation that the cost factor is what causes you to use the calling cards "the likely hood" would be taken into consideration that infact you have been calling the applicant and not just friends around the world, but of course they take the entire application into consideration, calling cards alone are not a deal breaker...that i assure you

Proof is Proof anyway you can get it.If you have to photo copy phone cards and put in a note if they accept them good if not at least you tried.but you really need to show that you were in contact with her before and after your marriage get letters from all friends and realitives about the two of you and what they think of the marriage.
And anything else you can do is good.
Put Skype into your computer download it get your fiance to do the same you both need to enter eachothers email address and you will be able to communicate that way and you can even see eachother.It records the dates and time you contacted eachother.

Include evidence of this with your phone cards, then.

The photos of the wedding party, especially of all the relatives present, are good evidence.
