Please advise,

I am not married yet therefore I have submitted my express entry profile with anticipation of an ITA. My CRS score is quite good at 501. My finance was denied a study permit in August 2019. Our fear is that should we marry and put him on my application now our marriage might be seen as not genuine as it may look like he is marrying me just to get into Canada. Is this true? We have not lived together as I am in Canada and he is in home country right now therefore no shared bills etc.We just have pictures of our relationship and family that can vouch for us. Please assist

It is up to the IRCC officer to decide whether they consider your marriage as a sham marriage or not and may or may not issue you a procedural fairness letter, later on your application.

In case you get one, you will need ample proof that your marriage is not a marriage of convenience and will have to provide sufficient documentary evidence that suggests that you knew your partner for very long time and had intended to marry. Family vouching rarely works out such cases.
