Here is my timeline:-

NOC - 2131
Stream - SRS - Engg. stream
AOR - 21 Jan 2014
Nomination received - 1 December 2014.

I was still in the process of filing CIC application, and I am not employed at my job anymore. What is the process here? In holidays season, I do not have much hope of getting another job.

Will my nomination be withdrawn after I notify them?

My PGWP is until end of 2016.

Hi AINP_help,

here is my suggestion(I'm not expert):

first thing: send your PR application to CIC, don't waste any time.

second thing: start applying for job, looking at your NOC code you are skilled labor (which are rare in Canada) i don't see any issue you finding job in Alberta. Best thing is you already have open work permit valid till 2016; you can find job and work for any other employer. Once you get job, inform AINP about job change (hope by this time you received CiC AOR)

CIC doesn't concern about your job its AINP who needs to be updated once you get your new job.

As I said earlier I'm not expert, seek guidance from other forum member too.

Good Luck.

This is a huge dilemma because once you updated AINP you will then have to update all your forms to reflect the changes. Don't forget there is a form where you have to list all your activities in the past 10 years (with no gaps in between) that you need to send to CIC and it has to be current and updated even after you have submitted the forms to CIO. And let's just say updating documents with CIC is not the easiest especially when your application is not yet being processed (i.e. they have not issued you a file number).

It maybe true that CIC does not care about which employer you work for, but if there is any discrepancies then CIC will have to conduct a thorough background check which could delay your PR application indefinitely until they received either a satisfactory result (which can move your PR application forward) or a unsatisfactory result (which could cause them to decline your PR application).

You are in a tricky situation, so evaluate all options carefully.

Good luck.

But I have already got the AINP nomination? Will I still have to update the previous forms that were sent to AINP? I this is the case, then that is a bit tedious and indeed not worth hiding anything from them.

Will AINP cancel nomination once you don't have the job? I am not bound to any employer because of open PGWP. I will also be able to go through CEC too, since I have one year of experience.

This is a very scary situation. :(

Thanks for the reply. I will have to sit still because of holiday season, until mid-January at least.

That is good to know CIC does not care. But what about AINP? Any idea about their reaction once I immediately notify them? Ideally I would want to wait to get a job, but still want to know what their reaction can be.

I personally don't think you have to tell AINP, but I am no expert. You applied in the SRS class, not the employer driven, so I would say no. What *I* would do if I were in your position, is to aggressively look for a job, and then inform CIC or AINP of your new circumstances.

Hi I’m going through the Ainp process currently and could you share if you notified the AINP office when you lost your job and was your application withdrawn? Thanks very much
