I don't really understand some of these questions, what is IRCC really looking for?

In the relationship questionnaire (PR - adding spouse after AOR), IRCC asks "Provide information regarding your religious beliefs."

What information? What specifically do they want to know about my religious beliefs?

Both my wife and I are practicing Muslims. What else is there to write? What is a Christian supposed to write? A Hindu? An Agnostic?

Does IRCC want to know my religious beliefs regarding marriage? Regarding keeping beard? Regarding stealing? Regarding gambling? Regarding Ramadan/Fasting? Regarding alcohol? Regarding porn?

They are looking to see if the spouses are the same or different religions. So just write that you are both Muslims. They don't need to know your views on anything just what you are

It's a simple question. Just state what religion you believe/practice. They just want some background on the sponsor and the PA. (assuming family sponsorship when the sponsor is applying for his/her spouse to become PR)

And to answer the question in your title. That's it. Muslims. Nothing else.

btw you posted in Family sponsorship section. Looks like you are applying under other stream and is including/adding your spouse. (vs you are already PR and sponsoring your spouse to become PR as well)

i think they ask because they understand different cultures and religions operate with their own beliefs. Someone in the west as a christain may think arranged marriage is weird but its completly normal in the east for example.
A nikkah for example would be not seen as a typical marriage here because for many muslims, a nikkah is all you need, not a whole entire wedding. Nor do you need to date or live together beforehand. So I think they ask to make sure you're coming at this from a religious standpoint and not trying to do some sort of trick

also they can ask for anything, if they wanna go through your phone they can, if they wanna ask you about your sex life (in the past they would!), they can(t? anymore i think)

Interesting you point this out. We actually had Nikkah and Walimah, which are the only two things required/recommended in Islam - so we didn't go the cultural way of doing a Mehedi or a Holud/Haldi, and the other stuff. I may actually try and explain this a bit in this question, or IRCC may wonder why we didn't have pictures of women and men dancing and singing ...

From what I've learned, IRCC is likely interested in understanding how your religious beliefs impact your daily life and decisions, especially as it pertains to your relationship and family dynamics.

For Muslims like yourselves, it would make sense to mention practices such as fasting during Ramadan, regular prayers, and other aspects of Islamic faith that are integral to your lifestyle. This helps IRCC get a fuller picture of your cultural and religious background. Similarly, individuals of other faiths or those who are agnostic would outline their beliefs in a similar manner, focusing on how they shape their personal and family lives.
Also, just in case, there is a https://christianpure.com/learn/job-interview-prayers/ , which can work wonders.
