Hello,
I have a sort of special case. I am from Canada and I have been living and studying in Germany for the past 2 years where I met my boyfriend who is from Vietnam. He applied for a visitor visa to come home with me to visit my family for christmas but was rejected. This is what he received:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the limited employment prospects in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

He has been living and studying in Germany for 5 years. He is still finishing up his bachelors and he has an IT job here. He submitted his German residence card, gave his employer contact info, the university enrollment, and my parents wrote an invitation letter for him to come.

We gave them our plane tickets, showing that even I am coming back to Germany since I have a job here.

How to we send a second successful application? What more do they want?

he is on student status that might be a main reason of this refusal plus insufficient funds and the other thing he is living on temporary basis so that is why immigration status reasons are clear and understood don't try to apply again until fix these issues first what documents you submitted and what financial documents did you submit in previous application?

He just submitted a bank statement with 1,000 euros in it and his student enrollment. In the application form where it asks for employer he filled out all the information. But his contract is written in German and so we need to get it translated. I was also thinking that it would be good for his boss to write a letter stating how long he has been working there, how long he will continue to work there and that he gave him vacation time for these days.

But as far as his status goes this cannot be changed. He is still in Germany on a student visa. His father and some of his aunts and uncles also live in germany, they have permanent residancy but they do not hold a German passport.

My parents will also write a better letter stating they will support him financially while he is there.

Probably one of the main refusal reasons is the visa officer is aware that you are in a relationship (maybe the invitation letter??)..... and had concerns that your boyfriend may not return to Germany at the end of a short visit
