prove of financial support

my husband moved to canada. since he moved i have been supporting him sending him money. now we want to apply for me to join him in canada. but all we have are the reciepts that i have been sending him money in canada. can i use this as prove or must he be the one to support me financially

You need to provide more information. When did you guys got married ? Where did you guys got married ? And what do you mean by "all we have is receipts" ?

Financial support from either side can be used as evidence the relationship is genuine. But you should have more evidence than just this. Also, sometimes the visa officer will accuse the applicant of paying the sponsor to help get a PR visa if it is the applicant who sends money to the sponsor. This depends on your situation and the country you are from, though.

we got married in december in Ghana our home country. He left canada for Ghana and i left germany for Ghana. All we have as prove of financial support are reciepts which i (his wife and now applicant) has been sending him money while he moved to canada to ease his settling in. By receipts i mean western union money transfer reciepts. should i use them? more over we were together in Germany before he went to canada although we did not live on the same address but we were neighbours.

I would say use them. Explain why you sent him the money - your reason is good. You should have or be able to get proof from Germany that you were dating as well. Letters or affidavits from friends and family can be used: they should write about how they know you and that they believe you are a genuine couple because ...
