One thing guys want to share what I feel.

I called CIC the agent was very nice, when I spoke with him from his words I come to know that CIC is aware now about our CEC applications and they are now with their words which came up recently in article related to us which says they will process backlogs in 6 months. Same words I heard from the agent which is good thing. And he told me CEC is really taking time and who ever is waiting for PPR its just a matter of queue when the officer last time reviewed our files. So everyone is dealing now with regards of this queue as you see they were working on before June applicants and today one guy "canadaforu" he is applicant of 17th July he got DM today.
So hopefully In Sha ALLAH (with the will of God) everyone will hear soon.

Just delay your protest a little bit, I am hoping they will start processing the applications now as the article came up. And definitely for Aug, sep, oct it will take bit more time because these applicants did not received medicals yet. So firstly you will hear about medicals and hopefully very soon PPR request.

Best of luck all.

I understand people who are obviously not here in Canada but I have zero time for people who believe it will have a negative impact on their applications. It is pure cowardice ...simple as. If nobody ever speaks up then absolutely nothing will happen. I gave my story to the Toronto Star and my name and picture was printed and yes I was nervous but I was like CIC will continue to keep us delayed if we stay quiet but if stand up and start talking publicly they will not be able to hide their inefficiencies.

In regards to the protest @Winterfox I am up for that. I am currently actually trying to organize numbers from another Facebook page which is all Irish people applying. I will keep you updated. I am not sure how much luck you will get with people on this forum. There seems to be too many people like "blessedsherry" who have the irrational fear of CIC coming after them. However, that is not true of everyone and there are some very brave people on this forum who are standing up for themselves and for others and for that I congratulate them.
Personally I am in full agreement with you Hegarty. However, our opinions are based on being from democratic countries (In my case, the United States) where protesting and speaking out against 'the establishment' is normal and acceptable. But not everyone applying for PR originates from a country where freedom of speech is the norm. Many are coming from countries where speaking out against the establishment carries a very real risk. While they may understand on some level that Canada is a democratic country where freedom of speech is acceptable, in practice it will be very difficult for them to simply cast aside a lifetime of learned caution and speak out against the immigration department of the very country they are trying to immigrate to.

...Waiting
The idea for me is just a little far fetched, people protest in tens of thousands for issues like capitalism, a protest because our applications are to date 2 months overdue?
What will people resort to 4 months down the line if we are still waiting?
CIC have made it clear that are will continue to process our applications and are working on it, we just need to remain patient.
In my opinion 6 months is a realistic and reasonable time frame, I highly doubt a protest will speed this up to even 3 months.

We have to consider ourselves lucky to even have the opportunity to be able to immigrate to Canada and understand it is not a given right.

I too am frustrated over the long waiting, but we must continue to stay positive.
