Getting married in a third country is the right decision - you need to avoid travel to your home country.

To answer your question, it most likely will not be possible to bring her to Canada soon. She would need a TRV to come to Canada as a tourist which has a very high chance of being refused due to your status in Canada. Once you are married, you will need to add her to your PR application. However she most likely won't be able to come to Canada until the PR application has been finalized and she has a PR visa. This could take a couple of years.

What has his status got to do with his girl's application. I know someone who got his positive decision at his hearing and his wife and kids applied for TRV in their home country and they were granted. I also asked thesame question on a platform here but i cant find it and someone commented same . So now if u can explain how his status will negatively affect his girl's TRV, i shall be very glad.
Thanks

It is highly unusual for the family of an asylum applicant or protected person to receive a TRV. It will be assumed that they will not just visit and will stay and also file for asylum or try and extend their status as a visitor until they can be including in the Primary applicant’s PR application. Spouses and children can get to Canada but it is usually after the protected person (primary applicant) has been granted PR.

Hello,

I am at the same situation. How did it go? How can I apply for it, did you do it before go to third country or we have to apply it to there? How long it took for your partner to come canada and is the government give them work permit or they just come with visitor visa. If you could just help me out I will appreciate it, I could not find anything online. Thank you.
could you send a message to me? I tried to send to you but couldn't.

We got married in a third country and then I came back and applied for sponsorship, she got approval a year after and came right away and got her PR in airport upon arrival. While she’s waiting for sponsorship approval she can apply to visitor visa but you need to prepare a good file for that. Good luck

I still did not get my PR. Did you have your pr when you applied for her sponsorship? By the way which country did you chose to get married? I am afraid we have to wait in that country for a couple of weeks to get married certificate is that right?

Yes I waited until I got my PR. We did it in Turkey, i had to stay there for two weeks. We got married and we had certificate same day.

Hello,

I applied for refugee status on the border of Canada, and I got the hearing and approval. then I applied for PR (in process). My question is: I want to get married; my fiancé is in the USA; I applied for RTD two months ago and have not received a response until now. How can I get my document as soon as possible? Any advice?

You can try requesting urgent processing. Note that once you have the RTD, you will also need the apply for a US visa.

i did but still no response
In that case there's nothing you can do but wait.

Why not have your partner come here and get married in Canada instead?

thank you for your response. Did you get anything from Canada government that proves you are not married in Canada?
