Hi everyone one...i applied for pr as a protected person on October 2022 in quebec,,
Im planning to move to alberta ..would that speed up my process?

Are you a PR now? If yes, you are free to move anywhere you like.
I'm a protected person I'm still waiting for my pr since processing in quebec is too slow ...it's been 3 years since i applied for pr....i want to move to alberta hopefully that speeed up my pr application process

It will help but how much is tough to say. Depends on where in the process you are and how IRCC puts you in the queue. Processing times have been increasing for protected people outside of Quebec as well. It is a pure math issue. Way too many people waited for the allocated PR capacity. Assume you have secured employment and housing. In many ways Quebec has been doing better economically and has a lower cost of living in many parts. Given the economy would only move if you have equally good job and housing security in Alberta. If you have children also access to childcare and you’ve factored in the cost into your budget.

First of all thank you for your reply, actually I'm single i don't have kids,Im planning to move to alberta with my friend, for my pr process it's stuck since more than 1.5 year no updates ;
Criminal history : in process
Security screening: not started yet
Info sharing: in process
Medical passed and expired
Eligibility: not started
So can you imagine it's been more than a year and still like that.
What really doesn't give me any hops about quebec is that i met a few persons that have their process done for over 2 years but still waiting there turn on the quebec queue.
It's sad seeing that a lot of people who applied after you having their pr in others provinces.
Quebec we pay more taxes and everything is slower for no reason.

Quebec runs their own immigration and sets their own quotas. Has nothing to do with taxes. PR processing times are going up in the rest of Canada and is getting close to 3 years. It is purely a math issue. Many applicants for a small quota. The economy is not good in many places in Canada including Alberta so unless you have employment lined up I would not leave your current job. If you end up unemployed or even worse homeless that is worse than waiting in Quebec.

Got your point ...thank you

Best of luck. Many viewed Alberta as some sort of utopia but many people have moved before you and so there are many competing for the same employment. Consider all locations across Canada if you want to move out of Quebec depending on your field of work. There are pockets of Canada, often in smaller centres, who do need workers. In some cases securing rental housing is the bigger issue.
