Hi Guys,

Please find the changes in the points for assessments comparing proposed vs. existing points.

Proposed Existing Changes
Points Points in Points
Language Proficiency 20 16 +4
Age ( 25 to 35) 12 10 +2 ( for applicant below 35yrs)
Experience 15 21 -6
Education 20 20 0 ( proposed points not available)
Required Points 67 67 0

Note :

1) From above we can make out Canada is interested for younger generation to apply for immigratiion and not old peoples.
2) They are stressing more on Language system
3) They are not giving much weightage for Experience from any country
4) The above summary will differ on case to case basis.

What do you think of Proposed changes...Will it be beneficial to new applicants...?

Regards
Cool

In my opinion it is going to be hard on all applicants, both young and old. The old will lack maybe points do to the fact that they have reduce the points. The young might have the points , but the funds will be hard to raise. If some of us who have worked for some years hard to save a reasonable amount especially if you have a family.

It is going to be strict for sure. few people are going to apply. Just lie the cap style it has reduced so many people from applying.

Lets wait and see what happens.

One of the items that I read that would seem to make things a bit more sensible, is validation of qualifications before arriving in Canada.

Due to language points being increased, the countries with English being their first language will be benefited but other countries might suffer, age is only 2 points which won't be a great deal, I personally see english points as a great deal for people especially from south asian countries where actual talent lies.

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place!! You get more points for being younger, but it will take MORE YEARS to earn the full experience points - both areas that are set in stone. The only points one can influence will be Language.
Has anyone seen specifically how the points will be allotted within those three categories? I expect those who manage to get their Visas this year under the post 26/6 rules will think themselves lucky.

Language is not a big factor as we all need to be good at english in order to be successful in Canada, this requirement is not so hard to achieve.

Ya Pippin,

agreed with you. Agewise it will be better for younger ones but experience wise, the applicant may lack.

Language factor is definitely a plus point and contributing to your eligibility.

Hi Coolguy2010,
I agree with you. experience will be the main problem for those younger applicants and also the funds, it is not easy to raise money these days. For the language , those from English speaking countries have the advantage. Those who speak English and French have a double advantage.

lets wait and see.

Cheers.
