Proposal to refuse your selection certificate application for QUEBEC

Hi all,

I got a letter from Quebec in Jan 19, 2016 after waiting 2 years which says that :-

"- You did not get a sufficient number of points based on the factors in the selection grid, according to the Regulation respecting the selection of foreign nationals, Articles 31, 32, 38, Schedule A, and the weighting Regulations applicable to the selection of foreign nationals."
with SCORE CARD:-

EDUCATION LEVEL: 12/14
FIELD OF TRAINING: 6/16
EXPERIENCE PROF: 8/8
AGE: 16/16
ENGLISH SPEAKING: 1/2
ENGLISH WRITING: 1/1
ENGLISH LISTENING: 1/2
ENGLISH READING: 1/1
AUTONOMIE FINANCIÈ: 1/1

In total I got only 47 points.

I applied for Quebec Skilled Worker for single applicant, my academic background is Bachelor in Civil Engineering with Masters in Urban Planning and I sent all my certificates during application. According to Quebec List of Area of Training 2015, Civil, Construction & Transportation Engineering will get 12 points out of 16 in Area of Training. But in my case, they considered Master's degree during calculating points and provide me 6 out of 16. Since, I applied for Civil Engineer which I want 12 points out of 16 according to Quebec rule, but I got 6 points less in Field of Training. In this case what should I do???????

Please help me to get out from this problem; they gave me only 90 days to solve this problem.

HOPE :)

I am sorry to hear this bad news.
But my concern is you applied in 2014 why you can get points based on 2015 list?
Another thing is for your case, you get points under bachelor or master degree, why they just gave you 6 points?

Best redards

Hi Ameya88,
thanks for your kind information.
BTW do you have any idea for submitting documents to MIDI???
Kindly suggest me, the clock is ticking day by day.

@ Hi,flywind1209,
Well, I have applied in 2014 but the score is similar to updated Quebec List of Area of Training 2015 (i.e Civil Engineer get 12 points out of 16).
I don't know why day neglect my Bachelor degree, since I applied for BE Civil Engineering.

Best,
Gyanendra

hi gyanendra, when your bachelor degree is completed is it 5 years before or within 5 years of applying in Febraury 2014

do you have any at least one year experience related to civil engineering before feb 2014

i think you got aot 6 points for urban planing, because it is latest degree and you have not proved that you have at least 1 year experience civil eng.

aot is based on your duties and responsibilities that you mentioned in reference letter

regards
ameya

Hi Gyanendra

Thanks for your explanation. I'm also afraid of the kind of things happen to me. For example, my master (biochemistry=0), but my PhD (biological scientist=6), so what I can do is prepare all documents to do mt best to demonstrate my training and work experience both are related to bio not biochemistry. I don't think they can tell the difference, therefore, I provide a bundle of documents to impress them. I really hate this kind of uncertain thing but I don't have other choice.

God bless you and me.

Hi,ameya88,
Thanks for your quick reply.

BTW, I have completed bachelor degree in 2007 then master's degree in 2010 and have sent two different experience letters mentioning with duties and responsibilities of civil engineer as major position. Firstly related to civil construction work which is more than 2.5 years( i.e. Jan 2009 to Sept 2011) secondly, related to geoinformatic (i.e. Aerial Photogrammetry, GIS , LiDAR and Remote sensing)from Dec 2011 to till date.

@flywind1209,

God Bless you.

Best,
Gyanendra

hi,gyanendra you have very good chance to success for aot 12 points, if you explain with detail analysis in cover notes regarding at least one year experience in civil engineering preceding 5 years feb 2014 to MIDI.

you can check and compare your duties and responsibilities of civil engineering in HRSDC website with noc 2131 (civil engineers).

with regards
ameya
