Hi,

We got a letter from IRCC requesting the following (outland common-law):

 SPR's residency: Please provide proof that your sponsor intends to reside in Canada when
you become a permanent resident. This includes but is not limited to copies of
correspondence with: potential employers, real estate companies, property rental agencies,
health care agencies, insurance agencies, financial institutions, etc. Please provide as many
indicators as possible as any single one of these may not be enough on its own to prove intent
of residency. This must be received at this office by: 2020/01/04

I don't understand why they would ask this since we already sent:

  • Mortgage information about my home in Canada
  • 2 Canadian credit cards statement and a bank account
  • Canadian investment account statement
  • Valid Canadian drivers licence
  • Letters from friends and family
  • Child day care search results
  • Apartment search results
  • Job applications and my CV
  • Other minor documents

Should I just resend the same thing? I will try to add more but it seems overkill

A mortgage in Canada doesn't prove you plan to live there. Lots of people own homes in countries where they don't live
Canadian credit cards and bank accounts also don't mean you'll live in Canada. My husband and I have these but live in Australia
Investment accounts - see above
Driver's license as above
Letters mean that your family and friends like you. Not that you intend to live in Canada
Child care - Have you contacted the child care centres? Got on their wait lists?
Apartments - you own a home so why apartments? Have you contacted any rental agencies or real estate agencies?
Job applications and CV are good
What other minor documents?

When my husband and I provided proof we had copies of email conversations with rental agencies in the area we planned to move to, emails from the employer who offered him a job when his PR came through, confirmation of my employer allowing me to work remotely from Canada, emails from vehicle dealership to say they would look for the vehicle we want, shipping company quotes, emails with a customs agent in Vancouver regarding importation of my husband's classic car.
