We used MS Word. 2 pictures per page with captions detailing who, what, when, and where...at the beginning of a set of pictures, we included a short statement about the pictures and when they were taken. We didn't write the dates for every picture, so that's why we included a brief statement.

I think using MS Word or Publisher is the most organized way to present the pictures. I doubt CIC would require originals, but if they do, have them ready.

We separated all pictures with plastic sleeves that open from the side and each plastic sleeve has a label describing the contents.

You can do what you feel is best, but printing just seems more organized. Do not staple and try to avoid paperclips, if at all possible. Plastic sleeves are good because nothing is bound together...this was advice given to me from someone inside CIC (not via the call center).

If you do decide to provide the photos 'loose,' make sure you add captions to the back and try to keep them in chronological order to make things easier for the VO so that they can reference answers to the photos.

Good luck!

I sorted pictures by event and date. I had over 200. Avoid pictures that are similar as it just fills space. I did bundle the pictures of same date and same event with rubber band. I added a index card with each picture bundle explaining the date, event, in some cases the names of the people in picture, location. That's all. It might be a bit bulky but pictures are very important proof. I have read here that some did have only 40 pictures, others way more than I had. I guess its more the quality ( pictures with family, with friends, your spouse and you at different locations and events ) than the quantity of the pictures that counts.

Hi nicelina, I made collages from Walmart on my home computer-then picked up from Walmart, about 25-30 pictures on each page, and I think there was 4 pages!...they turned out awesome! I photocopied the collages in colour and sent the photocopied version of the pictures, because they were easier to fold in half. I labeled each picture with the date and event (03/19/2011) -wedding day, if there were other people in the pictures I would name them. that's it that's all!!

Good Luck with you application, I know it seems like it's gonna take forever, which it did for me, but once you clean off that kitchen table and start working at it, everything falls into place!

that's what I did...and hubbys coming home in 9 days! ;D

We did similarly with MS Word, with 12 pictures on 1 page (3x4).

And if you are planning to use folders, please double check your Country Specific Guide to see if they like that or not. For example, from Western Europe guide:
"Do not send your documents in transparency pockets, binders or folders."

I sent about 60 pics I think. I just had prints made, wrote the names/dates/event or location on the back, and put them in chronological order in a small envelope. I think any way you do it as long as its organized and you indicate what the photos are, will be fine.
