Hi,

I received the ITA recently. Since I will not be able to take the upfront medical exam, I need to upload proof in my response that I have scheduled a medical exam.

However, I couldn't find what constitutes as proof of scheduling a medical exam. Will a simplistic email from a Doctor's assistant work?

Also, is there a time limit as to how many weeks I have after responding to the ITA, to take the medical exam? I was thinking of getting it within 2 months, but it may be construed as a stretch.

Thanks!

After ITA you have 90 days to submit your e-APR, so medicals can take place anytime in between.

@CanadaWeCome,
Thanks a lot for the prompt response!

Here is the particular context - I will submit my application this week (last week of Dec'16) , however, I plan to take medical exam in first week of Feb, 2017. I have already scheduled an appointment, and will be attaching a small email confirmation. However, I am unsure if this will suffice the requirements from CIC.

Please advise.

It won't...You need to submit your medicals along with your e-APR.

I think that would only be acceptable if the first available appointment in the medical facility is in February and you have no other options (no other medical facilities available anywhere near you). It is very likely that your application will be refused if you do not submit your medicals with it.

Which most likely will result in your file being rejected and more time wasted to register a new EE profile and get back to the queue. You have 90 days to submit your application. Why rush submitting an incomplete file instead of waiting until everything including medical exam is provided as required?

Submitting a proof of scheduling medical exam in lieu of the actual required document would be acceptable only in legitimate cases where a medical exam cannot be taken within the 90 day period, such as pregnancy cases etc.

Thanks for your answers.

I had 60 days to reply. And being in the last days of December in the US, there is no doctor available in my state. And it is extremely difficult to get an appointment and fly out to another state. I was under the belief that I could submit the medical exam later, since the application asked to provide proof of scheduling the test. However, only now I am realizing that it's a big deal.

It's only to be used in extreme circumstances.

If you still have until Feb to submit your application wait until you have the medical. Submitting before the medical will not speed up your application and will 99% result in a Refusal.
