Hello,
could you please advise what can be the strongest proof that can convince the Officer to issue a TRV? Letter from job, funds, property, plane tickets, close relatives in the home country seems do not work.
Any input will be much appreciated.

you mean visa? twice. and both of them were refusals. we just want to try once more, as my husband must return back home due to some family health issue.
we just wish to collect as much as possible paper-proof to have a chance to have a visa granded

If you had sponsored your husband and he is in process your chances is very slim to grant him a TRV for the reason overstaying.....Is it applicable to your situation???

thank you for your reply, Marlena.
actually it's me who is a foreign national. my husband is Canadian citizen.
all 4 months long after our marriage we stayed in the US at Niagara Falls, as I have a multiple entry visa and it was easy for my husband to cross the border - he lives not far away from that place.
I have a ticket back home scheduled for the end of August, but my husband got the news about his fathers (96 y.o) poor health condition and he must return back, this time it will be extremely difficult for him to travel and see me back in the US.
so we started thinking of the possibility of applying for visitor's visa as it will be very hard for us to stay away from each other being so close.
this week Monday we received the letter from Mississauga that our the 1st stage sponsorship is approved. I just hoped that the possibility of the interview could help us with our visitor's visa application too as one of the proofs of my returning back.

Did you ever considering mentioning this to IO when you apply for visa...
Tell them your father in law is very ill and for that reason you want to go and see him. The only thing since your application in process it's so hard to convince the IO that your going back. I sponsored my husband but during the process he wanted to come and visit this summer since we thought his application wouldn't be finalized before at least another 8 months but I told him it's better I go and visit since his chances to grant visa was very slim even he was granted twice TRV before I start with the sponsorship application.
My conclusion it's so hard to get approved for a visa once the sponsorship took place. All I can say good luck if you decide to go ahead with it.

thank you for you kind reply, Marlena.
yes, we are collecting the documents related to my father-in-law's health now. but the matter is that IO wants to see the proof of my return back. and it is ever so hard to convince him that I do really plan to return back home - I have my family and kids waiting for me there as well as my job that states that if I break the contract I will have to pay a penalty. but IO just doesn't want to believe.

thank you again, Marlena. you really have a really big kind heart
