If you're a big facebook user this might be good for you. I put in a lot of screenshots of my facebook profile to show me talking publicly about my relationship, my family and friends knowing about it and being supportive. Also when you change status to engaged and married you usually get everyone congratulating you. That is very honest, public (and date and time-stamped) proof of both your relationship and everyone in your life knowing about it.

what a great idea...never even thought of that....well if my husband get's called for an interview.......I will be sure to get those done!!!

Im debating if I should send more prove to the vo, our file just got transfered. And when I hear all this it makes me worry >< we only send in some emails of our first year of relationship till we got married and then some pictures and our flight and visit infos. Would it be enough? Or should we send additional evidence to them, cause we missing contact prove of our last half year before sending the application. We just didnt think of the idea of printing of facebook or skype.

Well we are missing more than a half year of contact prove there

I wouldn't worry about it too much...my husband is in Cuba so I had to get creative with my proof since methods of communication and time together is limited. If there's an interview they ask you to bring in current proof (recent pics/phone records/email etc) so you can always bring in what you feel is missing then.

Ok thank you. Still I wish we would have added more >< hope I dont need an interview but if I will take all the other evidence with me then

Gather all that stuff now, dont wait to be called for an interview. Collect as much extra detail as needed including a settlement plan (How you intend to embrace Canada, learn the culture, history and intentions on how you will work i.e survival job or a job in your field) You can still forward all of this to your VO office. I myself am going to add further documentation including a settlement plan. Waiting to be called for an interview can put MONTHS on your application. Sort it now whilst you still have the option. Once you are called for an interview they will not accept any further documentation until you have the interview!

Ya thats what I thought, I rather prevent an interview than having one and delays, just wondering if they accept addional evidence send to them

Yes they will accept further documentation, the sooner the better for you and reduces a risk of interview. If you gather as much information as possible and send it in to your VO and you are still called for an interview C'est la vie, at least you sent as much information as you had. Best to feel as comfortable as possible during stage 2 without worrying. At the moment time is on your side but as I said IF you are called for interview then you can only gather documentation to provide on the day of your interview and they wont accept anything sent to them.

Good luck :D

WOW! What a great thread!

I was wondering the same thing about this, because we can't get phone records to show what we did the last year prior to getting married.

But FB and Skype screen shots is a WONDERFUL idea!!

(CLAPPING)

You guys ROCK!
THANK YOU!!!!

OH! P.S....it's ok to "edit" out the info that's "private", right??? ;D

Good idea with the settlement plan! I never thought of that. I'm going to make sure I include that in with my application now.

LMBO!!!

I've never heard of a "Settlement Plan"....oiy...the learning continues!

My wife and I have more than 30 000 messages on FB ... when you scroll up to view the history, it shows "loading 32 233 messages".

I took screenshots at every 5 000 messages, and circled the number of remaining messages on the top. And also put on the application (where you mention how you kept contact) that it would not be environmentally responsible to kill trees to print hundreds and thousands of pages of chat records :P

Just my $0.02 8)
