Proof of Means of Financial Support/ Financial Resource of Supporter

Hope this finds you well!

I am applying for a TRV for my younger brother who lives in Tanzania. I am studying in Canada and it been two years since I've been in Canada. I am on Study permit which will expire in 2 years. I am planning to invite my brother to Canada so that he could come to meet me during my holidays. I have almost filled his application but am confused about two document upload sections.

'Proof of Means of Financial Support' and 'Financial Resource of Supporter.' So my brother is a student and doesn't have any bank accounts on his name, just a couple of FDs which is shared between him and his mom. He is financially dependant on my Mom for the trip and in general. My mom has a couple of bank accounts and FDs which I can upload.

My mom lives with my brother in Tanzania and has a TRV, and I live in Canada and am inviting my brother however it is my mom who will be financially supporting him, so what documents go in each of these sections:- Proof of Means of Financial Support / Financial Resource of Supporter

You can mention all that details in LOE, who is supporting your brother, as he is financially dependent on your mother.
Since you are inviting him to Canada, in "Proof of Means of Financial Support" it is expected that you would give your:

• proof of a Canadian bank account in the name of the person providing you with money if funds have been transferred to Canada
  
• proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
• bank statements for the past four months
• a bank draft in convertible currency
• proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
• a letter from the person or institution providing you with money
• proof of funding paid from within Canada if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program

And for "Financial Resource of Supporter":

• your bank statements for the past four months
• a bank draft in convertible currency
• pay stubs
• an employment letter
• proof of assets or business
• proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
• tax reports, declarations or statements
• proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
• a letter from the person or institution providing you with money
• proof of funding paid from within Canada, if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program
• proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada

In your case "Financial Resource of Supporter", you mother would be supporting your brother. You shall give her documents there in.

Proof of means of financial Suppport. It's as simple as it sounds. It means what means does the supporter use in order to acquire the money in his/her account. In essence they are asking for the letter of sponsorship from the sponsor. That's whosoever that's sponsoring your brother should write a letter of sponsorship stating the means of his income thereby attaching proof. Eg maybe a university professor or lecturer, he/she gets his/her income from the university, what are the proof he/she is a lecturer in that institution, it could be an appointment letter, staff ID card or something of the sort. He/she must attach photocopies of the above mention it that's the case scenario.
Proof of financial Suppport
This is the bank/account statement of the sponsor usually it should not be older than the last six months.
