Dear all,

My initial application for visa was accepted on April 13. I was accumulating the papers to send in to the Buffalo office. I just printed the new instructions and they have removed the instructions for
"Other evidence in writing". I had accumulated the other evidence in writing, and have no time to take the English test with the new system.

What Do I do now?!!!!

Am I still evaluated under the old system?

You will be processed according to old rules if your application was received before June 26 2010. But , iy you can take the IELTS you should because they are getting more strict every day. If you can take it send it in just to be 100% sure.

I would take the IELTS if I could, but the next date will be too late, and the results are not instant.

Do the following:

1) give you other evidence of proficiency
2) setup an IELTS exam
3) Send them the evidence of proficiency, with an explanation that you were going to send the evidence only but they changed teh rules right before your deadline and that you intend to take the exam, then send them the IELTS receipt to show proof.

But on the other hand, you could send them the evidence of proficiency and let them get back to you about IELTS. They should get back to you, but there is always a small chance they reject you without giving you a chance.

There is also a small chance that they would have accepted your evidence of proficiency.

Yes, your application was received by CIO long ago (lock-in date is the date the application was received at CIO).

But you should only be submitting "other evidence" if you are a native speaker of English.

If you are not a native speaker, submit your written evidence, but suggest you also register for the IELTS. (Are you sure you cannot take it before the end of your 120 days? It is offered frequently, but may require travel to a major city). If you can't get your results in time, submit a copy of your registration with your full docs. Write a letter stating that you will submit the results ASAP.
