Proof of intent to live in Canada?

I live in Tokyo with my wife and am sponsoring her for our return to Canada next year. We have just about all of our forms filled out and supporting documentation.

#20 on the Document checklist states: If you are a Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada, you must include proof that you intend to live in Canada with your spouse.

Aside from my resignation letter to my current employer, I can't think of any other documentation that I can provide in this case. I will be looking for employment in Canada in the month or two prior to my relocation. Same with accommodation.

What other proof am I able to provide at this early juncture?

We sent as many as we can like
My wife job contract in Korea.
Her driving license renewal request letter from Ontrario Transportation.
If you have home on rent then letter from owner.
E mail and chat with faimly and friends in Canada.
Job search in Canada.
If you are paying tax in Canada then income tax return.
Letter from family and friends.
And make letter your self and explaine what is your plans for Canada.
I hope it will work.

Read this guy's (Fencesitter) posts, to give you some ideas regarding what other documentations you can provide to prove your intent to return to Canada :). The guy was staying in China, so he had to show proofs of intent to live in Canada:

(Make sure to wait a couple of seconds till the pages fully load. Those links point to specific posts, and the page should scroll down automatically to the posts I'm showing you.)

Keep in mind that some of the documents that he provided might not be applicable for you, but just do your best. And make sure to write that letter outlining your future resettlement plan in Canada.

Good luck!

you can also send in quotes for moving your things/pets

I've only sent letter from my parents advising they would have us in their home for as long as needed and I wrote a letter of my intent on returning. We don't really have anything else. I could send a letter from my employer saying I have advised them I will be leaving but it is difficult to look for a job from another country when you have no idea when you will be arriving, same with rentals.
