Sorry if I'm posting too much today. I have another question.
As I mentioned, my husband and I have been together for ten years. We've been through a lot of bumps, but we're devoted to each other. As I gather all of my evidence (emails, letters, pictures, some western union money transfer receipts, and maybe a few letters from my family and friends who have see us throughout our relationship), I can't help but wonder if one little thing in my past could ruin the application.
No, I don't have a record!
My husband and I went through a rough time, and it ended up with me putting the relationship on hold and dating someone else for about a year and a half. I even ended up marrying the other person, however, that went south in a very fast amount of time. When it did, and I left my ex-husband, my current husband offered me a place to stay in Canada. It was during that time we reconciled our relationship, and even made plans to marry in my home town of Chicago later on that year. After having to leave Canada because my visitor's visa was up, I went back to Chicago, and I got an uncontested divorce from my ex-husband.
I have my divorce decree, and I know I need to send that to with my application. A part of me thinks that this will show that like other relationships, we've had our ups and downs, be we are truly devoted to each other. However, a part of me is afraid that this will negatively affect the application. I am very much willing to explain this, and I even plan to write a letter telling the story of our relationship (more like essay). I'd just like to know if this my be a sticky point to an otherwise genuine and loving relationship.
Thanks for your help.
