I am filling out the application for Express Entry, and I am being asked about proof of funds, "How much money will I bring into Canada". I spoke to a lawyer and he said this does not apply to me because I am already a resident on a work permit for the past 5 years, employed full time. However there is no option for that on the form online. What do I do?

You can refer this link:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

It states the below:

"Who needs proof of funds

You need proof of funds to meet the minimum requirements of the

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program

Who does not need proof of funds

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family if

  • you’re applying under the Canadian Experience Class or
  • you’re authorized to work in Canada and you have a valid job offer, even if you apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program"
Despite the above, you will still be required to enter an amount while submitting your profile, so enter an amount as per the number of dependants you have, and you can include a Letter of explanation while submitting your e-APR.
