Is your wife on the application?If yes, why not even though you are the principal applicant.How long have you fixed the deposit for?
I think it will be a good idea to send the fix deposit documents/terms as well because the VO are getting funny this days.

You can show it, but your Wify has to accompany you to Canada and you need to mention that in your application.
